Recommend PS2 games

Now, I've never been a Playstation fan, so I've never bothered to buy a console. Now I've gotten myself a decent emulator though and wanna try out some of the sweet games I've heard exist to the PS2, but I dun really know where to start.

What I'm asking for is recommendations! Name some of the best PS2 games you know, and preferably japan-related ones (Sakura Taisen, Xenosaga, Suikoden etc, you know, cool games, not lame, american ones =D). Oh, and no Final Fantasy.

Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Jak and Daxter series, Disgaea series, La pucelle tactics, Phantom Brave, Soul calibur 2 and 3

God of War 1 and 2, Ace Combat 4, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Dynasty Warriors 4 and Soul Calibur 3 are my favorite games.

Well, I'll mostly (or more like only) be playing single, so rather no fighting games or other more-fun-when-multiplayer-kind-of-games. Anyway, good ^^ Keep em coming.

I still have all three of them, even though my PS2 broke long ago.

I'll rebuy a PS2 one day so I can play them again.

By all means, try the Tales of Destiny Remake. Even if you don't understand a lick of Japanese, this is the best title out of the whole series in my opinion.

'Zone of the Enders 1 and 2' part one is good part 2 blows your mind

if you played 'Tenchu' then 'Tenchu 3' is great
if you like Tenchu then 'Metal gear solid'
'Shinobi' is too hard of a game to pass up
'Onimusha seires'
'Street Fighter Anniversary Collection' just to play Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike

-when/if you finish Shadow of the Colossus, try ICO

If you exit to the world map and the game stutters like shit, it's not the emulator's fault.

Just sayin'.

Otherwise, good game. Though it's not my favorite Tales by far.

Star Ocean 3 only gets good after quite some time IMO (the real fun begins when you get Albel into your party).

Wild Arms 5 is just gold, and Persona 3 and 4 are considered required playing for every role-playing games enthusiast, haha.
