Well i would tell you to get Trinity Universe a PS3 exclusive because it seems to be very-anime like or at least i think so... although its sort of 3-d and the story is pretty funny with its gags and giggles... Battle system is unique. Only downside is that i beat the game and Plat it in 2 weeks.I think i put like 60~70 hours of gameplay without using the DLCs.
Also, its has the ability to play your own music from your PS3 in-game and im surprised nobody mentioned this game even though it came out In Late June or July i think... i dont remember precisely but i pre-ordered it because it was that awesome.

Not sure what kind of connection type. Just know that the speed is download: 25mbps and upload is 1mbps. NAT is whatever default was.

sry if i list some games that are already up
dragonage [both of them] played on pc.. amazing
ff13 is ok, gotta be patient though... the tutorial is like the first 3+ hours of it
Fallout 3
Demon Souls - gotta be very patient, this game is very punishing... you die, you lose everything, no save points, no nothing. but you can pick everything back up if you get to where you died.
Oblivion is ok, i personally got bored of it though, but some friends love it

Anime style. Beat Fallout 3, beat Demon Souls. :P FF13 was boring for me. Thanks for your reply though.

I recently bought a PS3, so I did not try any JRPG on it yet.
However, the ones I'm looking forward to playing are: Final Fantasy XIII, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, Star Ocean 4, Resonance of Fate, Disgaea 3 and Eternal Sonata.
The only one I did not see mentioned yet is Resonance of Fate. The game is not very anime style, but it was developed tri-Ace, which gave us Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile. So I figure it should be a good game.

If you like diablo series and FPS gameplay. Try playing Borderlands, it looks anime enough + rpg + nice multiplayer co-op.
Have to admit though it doesnt really have that epic story, but still alot of fun to play.

Spoiler:
BorderLands = Easily Forgotten. Good art style though.
Even the people I knew that wanted me to get it don't play it anymore.
Get Mass Effect 2 when it comes out to the PS3. A ways a away though.

I'm really having doubts about this game. I liked the first Atelier Iris, loved the second one, and really like the third one. Rorona just seems more childish I suppose, I don't like how it looks. And going back to the idea that the main character takes on a support role rather than an attacker doesn't sit well with me. I don't mean to sound sexist or anything but for some reason whenever the main character of a jrpg is female the story just seems dumbed down and childish, and overall not as good. For me anyway.
Again no sexism intended, but i'm really having doubts about this game due to past experiences with the same sort of set-up. Don't get me wrong I've played many great games with female leads but I don't think any of them were JRPG's, and I don't think I've ever played a good game where the main character had support role in battle.(With the exception of the first Atelier Iris, but that was most likely because the story made up for it.)
Maybe I'll just take a leap of faith. I've loved almost every game by NIS/Gust, perhaps this won't be an exception.

Resonance of Fate - awesome tactical "turn based" shooter (if you can call it that :P)
Eternal Sonata - absolutely beautiful, deep story, and amazing ost
Tales of Vesperia - if you can read jap, rather interesting, and much bettter than the 360 versio :D
Ar Tonelico 3 - again jap, very hard to explain, kinda like battling to music, and your magic gets stronger if you match the rhythm with you attacks
Persona 3/4 - PS2, but awesome jrpgs. 3 has a better story imo, dealing with death, and 4 has better battle/social link systems, along with more humor, but shorter
Blazblue Continuum Shift - not a jrpg but still an amazing fighter, beautiful art, and a very interesting storyline
Valkyria Chronicles - just awesome, and there's an anime as wel, so you can "cheat"
Record of Agarest War - turn based strategy, plays like cross edge kinda
