When I was a kid, I couldn't play the Resident evil games at all. Its one thing to watch a horror movie, but another thing to interact in a horror game. I think I can take playing those games now, but I just haven't gotten around to playing them.Holy crap, that's one hell of a necrobump. Thread's got like 2 years of cyberdust building up on it since someone last posted here.

Had to say fear scared the crap out of me a lot also did not think much when i first try playing it in the dark i had to turn on my light, bathroom light, and hallway light lol what made matters worst was the weather was so bad and windy had a tree next to my window would hit up against it every dam time i heard a noise in the game. Stayed up till there was like 5 or 6am and i knew the sun was out haha. Also fatal frame series always gave me a good jump too.

Resident evil 2: When i was playing as Claire i was walking down a hall way in the police station and just out of nowhere 2 zombies broke in from the boarded window. It was quite and the loud noise of them breaking in caught me by surprise.
Fallout 3: On point lookout, i was shooting creepers and scrappers. Just when i thought i killed all of them one of them just popped out of nowhere screaming and that gave me quite a shock. It was dark and quite during the time.

The first horror game I witnessed live (without playing it ofc) was phantasmagoria.

The mannequins from Condemned: Criminal Origins. Turn around for a second and they move closer to you. Shit freaked me the fuck out.
Also doesn't help that I watched the weeping angels episode of Doctor Who before I finally got around to playing that game.

Those ReDeads from Zelda Ocarina of Time scared me so much I was afraid to go to Hyrule Town and Shadow Temple.

I posted that right after I actually encountered the bear in that house. Earlier today, I found another vid from Four Player Podcast (4PP), of them running into the bear. Their reactions were more or less similar to mine, albeit funnier.

The scariest for me would have to have beed Silent Hill 1, when you go into the courtyard in the school. The entire place was pitch black, you could only see 5 feet infront of you, and there is this fucked up noise coming from somewhere. It took me nearly 15 minutes to cross the courtyard, which was maybe a 20 foot square, cuz I was freaking paranoid and thought something was chasing my ass.
And for the Condemed games, never played them, but just from looking at the game play, I would be lost as fuck in that game.

There was this cutscene in silent hill 4, it was one of the very few that you could actually miss the first time going through it.
Its in a room near the end of the game, there's this black stuff dripping on to the floor. It's barely noticeable but if you use the action key, he will examine the puddle then look up. There's this 'human shaped thing' looking at you from the ceiling the entire time you were in the room [think ceiling cat but dripping in black stuff], it then starts a conversation with you ending with "kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill".
Oh and another part is when the room you are stuck in slowly gets taken over.

Lol The bear scared me the most when It started climbing the steps. Gotta love dark corridors in that game.

The fatal frame series! ... well okay not the one on the wii, that was shit, but the series as a whole kept me on my toes everytime I play them. Even when there are no ghosts yet you can really feel a chill course through your spine because of the perfect scary atmosphere. But when there are ghosts it just gets better, you don't see any gore and the game is almost 100% blood free but it can still project a disembowled figure of your character/ or you inside player's minds.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, man. Even if it was a classic, that shit could get scary as fuck. All of the games back then could get scary as fuck. Like, what the fuck are you doing, Nintendo?

Oooowh~ I love this thread~!!!! Cause I love watching scary games~!!! xD Sometimes playing like I'd watch someone play resident evil but if it's like fatal frame (cause the game is easy to control to me) then I'd play it~ which btw I'm rather far in fatal frame 3 and fatal frame 1 I just sorta left hanging~ thought I REALLY like it and will shoot them ghosts up with mah picture snappin skillz soon~

Was watching "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" being played on youtube. The guy inadvertently locked himself in a room with the monster, then died. He restarts with the door closed and the thing right behind him. He opens door, runs down the hallway, then briefly turns around only to see that shit running straight at him. I almost fell out of my chair trying to dodge that shit. I didn't know the fucker could run.
