After 10 years, the Total War series return to it's original location: The Sengoku-era Japan. In the latest, sixth installment of the series, we will have the chance to once again dominate the battlefields of Japan.
Gameplay cinematic trailer
Since I haven't played the original Shogun, I can't wait for this.
Not many details are in yet, but this has definite potential...as long as they won't rush it as in the case of Empire.

Isn't there already a thread for this game? Ah well...
The first Shogun: Total War was absolutely epic. While being a way simpler game than the later in the series, it has a charm that can not be found in any of the others. I don't think that I'm speaking only for myself when I say that this is one of the most anticipated games in the later years (with the exception of Starcraft 2 perhaps) and something that Total War fans have been waiting for since Medieval 2 was released.
For ten years we have waited to relive the epic story of unifying a shattered Japan, and this time with a better game engine, better graphics, better battles that can hold more than just a handful of units and to once again see the Warlords battle each other in one versus one duels on the battlefield.
Well, lets just say that from what I've seen this will be epic. Lol, I just hope it won't be as easy to win as the first Shogun; all you had to do was to as quickly as possible get Geisha and murder the opponents kings, since even if they failed their mission, they never died, so you could just do it over and over again until you succeeded =P One could consider it cheating, but it was not a bug or against the rules or anything.

Yeah, I made a thread a while back. It might be better if they were merged (especially with that working title image, holy fuck!), but it wouldn't be fair for me to report it, and it's not like the Master List gets updated anyway. :p
From what little they've released thus far, I am psyched (even if it's gonna need a new PC to play it). Admittedly I've only played Medieval 1 and Rome after that, but Shogun is my favourite of those and one of my all-time greats. As long as they maintain that character, keep the ultra-cool videos and completely ridiculous Kensai, and nerf the Geisha's a little, it will be perfect. It basically just needs to be the same game, but more modern...although I'm not sure that they won't add loads of extraneous crap.

I didn't know there was a thread about it, guess I haven't checked forums far enough...
While being on the subject of game (and Total War in general), I wonder how they'll develop the economy this time...The one in Empire was horrible(at least after the first few patches), but I liked the idea of provinces being divided into capital city where you recruited troops and built tax/public maintenance buildings and smaller "resources" cities which boosted income and could've been taken to cripple it. I'm curious if they'll keep this idea or revert back to Medievals 2 castle and town system.
Wish that they could release some more info about it...

Heh, don't worry about it, I was joking (hence my continuing over-reliance on smilies). It wasn't exactly a popular thread, and you have a tough and largely unrewarded job on with that thing.
Speaking of the master list though, might I suggest that you put the date of your last additions at the top? Otherwise people might not know whether something's been missed or if the list is just out of date.

I'm a very huge fan of the total war series and the original Shogun was a masterpiece (If you haven't played it, do so as soon as you can, it's that good).`I highly recommend this game to anybody planning to get it. I'll definitely be getting it myself. I'm really hoping they improve the AI immensely this time around. It takes months or even years for a someone from the community to modify the AI of the game to increase the difficult and make it more complex. As it is, I can beat all of the TW games on very hard difficulty.
Definitely looking forward to having a whole new tree of tech and a whole new tree of units!

Thus why it's on version 3
