If you can pick one type that could be a new starter besides water, fire, and grass, what would it be?
When a new Gen comes out which starter do you choose? I choose Water. Ice Beam and Surf FTW. If physical attacker, Ice Fang and Aqua Tail.

Whichever one that doesn't look fugly as hell first, then won't be useless or repetitive type against gyms. Though overall at the end, I always end up just using other pokemon and the starter is kind of a throwaway pokemon for Elite 4.

I'm Heavy Grass-type user so I'd like a psychic, steel, or electric would be nice since these are my back-up types.

Neko//Night
Electric I think.
I'm a heavy water user... always pick water starter, and yeah :D

Dragon. All Dragon, All the fucking time.Nuff said.
I should have excluded that from the choices because it's such an OP type, but what the hell.

I'm a hardcore pokemon fan so when it comes to it i'm picky about it example Generation 1 was awesome you had Blastroise (Physical Defender), Charizard (Physical Attacker), Venusaur (Physical or Special Attacker)
Gen 2 was not all that great, Gen 3 was better with Sceptile (Speed Attacker). Blaziken (Speed Attacker)
Gen 4 was alright and Gen 5 all I have to say on it is that Serperior was beast especially with contrary as an ability. Have Leaf Storm on him and you would wreak havoc on many ^^

I play most of the new games, or have in the past, but I am and will always be a First Gen die-hard ^_^

I've always been a fan of the Normal type. It only has one weakness, and is resistant to Ghosts. Some of the most powerful Pokémon are of the Normal type. Plus, they can learn other Elemental attacks, dontchaknow.
For that reason, whenever I start a new game I try and get a physically powerful normal type. It's the most reliable one IMO.

I've usually chosen the Fire type first and foremost, don't know why.
But I usually go through the game with the bug type. It's more challenging because of all the weaknesses, and bug being not effective against a lot of things. ^^;;

some ghost types would be good. I always used to pick charmander in the first pokemon games. I'd get my ass served by brock and misty and a few other leaders but hey charizard is boss.

Dope Stone Lion
I've always wanted to see a Dark-Fighting-Psychic cycle.
4th gen was somewhat unique since their second types were resistant to it's weakness main type. (except infernape...but steel resistance to Empoleon I guess)
Hopefully no more FireFighters starters.
