Starter types in pokemon

Water too, they are balanced and ice attacks are a great life savers (I remember my Feraligatr in Pokemon Crystal)

This. If a specific one, Houndour.

But, due to current restrictions, I usually go with whatever is cutest. In B/W I went with Smugleaf.

Off topic: It irritated me to hell that they made it so that you're at an automatic disadvantage for the first gym. Yes yes, they give you something that will work, but I never really liked using the little monkeys. I'd rather have leveled my starter than a pokemon that I used for one gym then shoved in my box for the rest of the game.

Fighting, just because I like Fighting types.

As for the standard Grass/Fire/Water set, I just pick whichever one appeals to me. With the exception of Gen 1, it always turned out to be the Fire starter. Adding the Fighting dual-type just made them cooler for me.

I need to get to my White game, at some point. I'm only halfway through.

I think a steel starter type would be cool.

But god forbid they make another generation of Pokemon, seeing as the Pokemon designs have been rapidly going downhill since the 4th Gen. They should just remake the 3rd Gen. and call it quits.

Gotta agree with you there. Funny thing about that first gym was that I didn't find out about the stupid little monkeys till after I grinded my starter's level up to win.

OT - I would probably go with psychic because they are almost always good.

I really don't care as long as it can shoot colourful lasers like Strike Freedom in Gundam Seed.
