It's turn based with a Real-time combat element:
Sword of the Stars. (Be sure to get BoB,MoC and the Argos Naval Yard expansions as these fix and streamline a lot of things. You can buy the whole pretty cheap).

You might enjoy Battle Realms if you're into anime-styled games.
It's pretty enjoyable for me, you'd better try it out for yourself!

Is it online? Nah for online gamez. It really pisses you off when your internet connection gets a damn lag.

About Battle Realms... Great Game, wish it had a sequel. Someone bought it for me like 5 years back and I torrented the expansion later on. It's great, but the online has basically flatlined, and the company won't make a sequel. T-T Anyways, Starcraft 1 is still quite popular, C&C 4 WILL be crap (really? a robot with just tubes?) and Supreme Commander 2 is very good and easy on system requirements.

I always liked and recommend Command and Conquer Generals, only that the expansion sadly really sucks.
And the classic games of strategy Age of Empires, and Rome Total War.

emulate The Super Robot Taisen series =P
they're not too much of a challenge though if you know what you're doing (and if you consult a few guides)

Played all of those except Rome Total War, and C&C Generals Zero Hour.

The kinds of Strategy games are play are those like Front Mission, or Arc the Lad.
Not a big fan of real time strategy games.
