Supreme Commander 2 demo

Yeah yeah, I know, it's just the demo, but I have to say, I am thoroughly disappointed. It feels more like Command and Conquer. And so far I haven't spotted any units from the original.. So yeah, they ditched the gameplay, and they ditched the units, also looks as if like they're ditching on QAI, yes I am pretty disapointed. Worst of all I've got pals saying that dumbing it down was for the best. Eugh.

I never played the first Supreme Commander so i cant relate to the changes in the new one
although when i first saw it i could see the relation with Command and Conquer in terms of graphics

Well, this is still a Demo so some units are disabled. Although i WILL miss the normal upgrade commander from separate upgrade menu and not instant research upgrades, along with the Mavor and other nice experimentals from first game, along with the variety of defensive structures and such. IF there's only one type of building and no "improved ones through research" I'll be very disappointed.
Also is it just me or are these "mini-experimentals" be the real experimentals? I didn't even see these true experimentals CT was talking about in one of the gameplay videos. I guess I'll download the game and test the thing in skirmish. If it proves me wrong, then I'm a happy strategist but if not, it's likely that it'll collect dust next to the Supreme Commander 1. At least FA is still something I bother to play.
Slightly OT: Anyone have idea how much processor speed I should be pumping out from my AMD Phenom II X4 to be able to run 4 player games at 1000 unit cap and have 1:1 speed ratio? Since I tend to get bit slower speed at later parts of the game.. Unless it's the AI again and normal Multiplayer would work just fine.

No idea on the CPU question sorry but yeah I'm a lil disappointed to see all those things as well. I don't really get why they've ditched all the designs and units. I mean what happened to the steampunk-y spikey, dark metal theme going on with the cybran? Now they just remind me of Transformers or Zoids.. UEF is even worse, now they look like lego.

Tbh I think just adding in the slightly less polygons / use more shaders and the research option + somewhat plausible storyline would have been enough good changes for the game to be released.
Having still the tech Tiers but being able to upgrade the units from the lower tiers to be more or less capable on fighting higher tier units.
How come it leads me to the point that multi-plattering this game is the source of the simplification...

Well, I bought the game.
How do I feel about it?
A complete waste of $52.99 I should of trusted my judgement on the demo and left this game to rot. Instead, I gave into hope and bought the damn thing.
The map's themselves, even the maximum 8 player maps, are rediculously small in comparison to the original. Single player is a joke, the ai on hard puts up no fight whatsoever. The characters and voice acting are terrible, which doesnt really make sense considering the first game was great. Pathfinding has alot of quirks, visual appearence seems uglier to me. Les units, smaller battles, so called streamlined unit production, but theyve basically killed off any and all micromanagement capabilities. This is truly a devolved game. Made purely for console gamers. Lastly, people seem happy to cmpare ot CnC3. To be honest, I think CnC 3 is a far better game then this. Also prettier. *My opiniion only*.
