Tactical-Style Games

How many Fakkuians here are a fan of Tactical turn based style games? There arn't a lot of them, but I thoroughly enjoy them.
I recently started Playing the Ogre Tactics remake for the PSP, and it's really fun...as long as you overlook it's infuriating Class Level system. Every time I want a new class he has to start as a level 1 unit, so I have to take time out of the game to level him up, not to mention almost ever enemy decided their life goal is to kill that unit.
Anyway, my rants over XD
My favorite is probably Final Fantasy Tactics, the customization you could make to your characters just made each play through feel unique, and the battles (at least early game) were pretty tough and evenly matched.
Non-RPG wise I'm a big fan of Civilization, always kind of wanted to play a game online with other players, but I'm worried about not being able to take that much time out of my day and the like.
What kinds of tactical games do you enjoy? And also, if you have any recommendations of games to try I'd love to hear them.

I love these kinds of games, Disgaea is actually my favorite game franchise. I can pour thousands of hours into them just leveling up, Also Advance wars, that has always been my second favorite. I actually bought a 3DS because I know they will make another iteration of Advance wars.

And I've only heard of Advanced Wars, but if they do make one fore the 3DS I'll be sure to try it ^^

You should try them, they are cheap now and they are amazing, lengthy games.

I play Super Robot Wars, its awesome. Also, there's no need to grind because... you can't! Except when you are trying to get more PP and Money on the final stage for the next play through.

Actually, I prefer the Original Generation games, not too interested in Gundam crossing over with Getter and Mazinkaiser. The OG cast is awesome enough alone.

TRPG? I'm actually playing Tactics Orge now as I'm typing this, lol. Like Pyscho mentioned, the class level system is pretty annoying since your new class has to start at level 1. But overall, the game is pretty great. Queen's Gate Spiral Chaos is another JRPG I played and beat awhile back, which is also a TRPG. Despite the ecchi that comes along with Queen's Blade, the game is really good on a legitimate basis. If anyone hasn't played it yet, I'd recommend it.
Disgaea is really good, but Sneaky One already tapped on that so I wont go into it. Valkyria Chronicles II&III are also really good, especially if you want or prefer a more Action Tactical RPG. I know there are more out there, but what I mentioned are what I have for PSP and I'm enjoying playing through them.

I'm a huge fan of tactical based games. I own quite a few. From Front Mission series to Age of Empires. I guess Age of Empires type games are more along the lines of a strategy game. Real-Time Strategy (RTS) to be exact. But I'm going to assume strategy and tactics are the same thing.
Would turn-based games be included as well?

Is fallout considered?Fallout 2 was tactical, right? I might be wrong, heard this like a year ago from my cousin. Well if you have any comment or suggestions I welcome you to share them.

Mhmm, every game that was mentioned thus far except what you and CHT mentioned are turn-based TRPGs.

I suppose it's fine, along as it doesn't stay from the topic, if you have turn-based games that hold a lot of strategy I don;t think anyone would mind hearing about them.
Also, I haven't gotten a chance to play it myself, but anyone interested in Tactical style games might want to try Spectral Force 3, going to borrow it from my cousin when he's finished.
Also Luminous Arc is an enjoyable Tactical Style game for the DS...The third ones been released in Japan, but not sure if they intend to ship it out anywhere else or not.

I see, can't think of any games then. And strategy and tatics are not the same.

I know what you mean, but I kinda like it when the OG characters can interact without interference from other actual anime series.
BTW 00 Quan[T] is even more OPed than Kira's God Mode Strike Freedom.

Yeah those are two completely different genres.

I'm actually playing Valkyria Chronicles currently, and I'm really enjoying it. Fire Emblem (7-10, specifically), Advance Wars 2, and FF Tactics Advance are some TRPGs I've enjoyed.
Civilization's more of a grand strategy game that tactical, but on that front, I do love me some Civ4 (especially the Rhye's and Fall family of mods) and several of the Total War games.
