Tales of Graces F

just finished the main game in just under 50 hours, and I have to say i'm rather unimpressed with this game. why? to me, the story seemed somewhat shallow and predictable, and the way the models interacted in the game didn't impress me all that much (maybe it was the eyes that threw me off...) anyone else get around to finishing this port of the wii bugfest?

Best Master-San
So, there's no major changes like Vesperia?
I'm still waiting the for the price to go down more. At the moment I'm aiming to buy Vesperia first.

I really want to learn more about these games what systems did they come out for? please

I understand about the storyline being a bit too shallow. Like around the end, they did threw in the memories of how Lambda went through. There are some stuff untold like how were Anmaltiea (Pascal's group) arrived at Efniea when they were original from Fodra. Another thing that I question about is how did Emeraude sleep for 1000 of years. Does that mean is Sophie 1000 years old? But I did hear the main story aka Wii version was really short compared to other tales games.
But the battle system is really fun. If you have tried out Tales of Destiny Remake or its director's cut version, the battle system is somewhat similar. Only difference is there already a set of attacks for regular A attacks unlike other Tales of Series.
For interaction, there was plenty of interaction between each character (Especially in skits) but I will admit, their eyes....were kinda bugging me at times.
People do compare this with Vesperia and I have to say, I own both Ps3 port, and this is good at its own way, not like Vesperia. Its a different battle system (well, more like Destiny/Hearts battle system) and its fun since you can combine alot of moves and create a long combo from the start (well, if you have enough CC).
I finished the main story, and Im planning to go to the next part of the game after I beat Zoan Cage. Hopefully the future part explains some part in the story that were kinda confusing me.

same here, just started at the Zoan Cage (Zone?Zoane?), finishing off the first two floors. not so hard atm, but i'm worried about the wager items, especially for the last two floors...i can't even offer anything for floor 9 yet...
@Kaimax - not so sure about changes between this and the wii version, but it seems Hubert plays a Flynn kind of role in the game (periodically playable in the original, and permanent party member in the remake). I don't know, I may be wrong (and I probable am). Some things that I am sure about are the addition of the Future Arc and ability to dualize two checks together to make one (ex. paralysis + poison = parapoi)
@ xgbladerryo - my guess on how Emeraude slept for centuries is that she forcefully put herself into that state with chemicals and gases and whatnot, either that, or she herself is an android, and simply shut herself off, or was assisted in doing so in some way, shape or form. And about Sophie, she might be. Remember that she's a humanoid? She doesn't seem to age, even though the final cutscene in the main story may make it look otherwise. She just has her hair down :P I'm pretty sure it was mentioned at one point that she doesn't age, much like an android
in short... It's Science

I was fighting the first three floor on hard mode without noticing. I was like "Odd, they're level is really high up there.....and my life bottle is suffering as well..." After Kohak's battle, which i barely made it out, I quickly checked my difficulty. I made myself cry lol. But I like Zoan Cage. Good place to level up and stuff. Plus, the first floor made me say "WTF?"

I play it with my friends. I'm happy that this version came with Code Geass costumes. Now, I main, Asbel even more now that he is complete as, Suzaku. He had his seiyuu and looks, and all he needed left was his outfit. Sophie looks nice as C.C. though, but I like her more in the Miku Hatsune outfit. ^_^

I know exactly how you feel...I pretty much did the same thing, going on hard and not knowing. 1st floor was pretty whack too...and floor 3 is good for grinding rocks to evolve weapons too!

Right now, Im maining the caster types (Especially Malik). Floor 3 was horrible for Asbel since most of his attacks doesnt even flinch them. I recently used Malik and I am just casting "Vanish blow" or "Averaid Barrow". Also, funny story, since I preordered the game, i got the three costumes (Kyle, Rutee and Judas costume). I left Richard with the Judas costume after he split with me. Lets just say it made Judas look like a horrible person in the game.

Better than leaving him with a watermelon on his head and ruining nearly every scene...
Zoan Cage isn't really that hard for me, I main Pascal and play Asbel when I find enemies that are weak to B skills. At other times, I either play Cheria or Malik. Cheria is a very interesting character to play, like Estelle from Vesperia (paladin-like role), and Malik is just to awesome for anyone's good...

Did you use Malik Beam yet? Even if this is a Joke hi-ougi, its strong as hell!
Btw, if you get the Title: "Hourai no Tamashii" from using Houraisatsu 800 times, you can level up the title to get one of Asbel's new attack,Kasshin Gouha. And I wont lie, this attack is pretty strong. Only thing is, its pretty hard to chain it off. So far, i chained it off from Hadou Meppu but My CC gets drained quickly.

hmm interesting...I may check that out if I ever decide to go back to playing Asbel for an extened amount of time :P running around doing inn requests, procrastinating on future arc, which I should get to asap. read up on the gfaqs boards that the future arc is just like an enormous sidequest, as in you get stuck where you left off after beating the game, so I'm considering on getting to it soon. I hope to acquire Malik Beam asap, it just looks too epicly lolsy

Thats really good to know. Im gonna do it after I hit lvl 100 (only 4 lvl.....) and get Asbel's best subarmor.
Quick info for u to get Malik Beam. Must get the "Dotou no Hokori"(Sonic Buster) and during Arles Rise, us Sonic Buster, and press L1.
"OTOKO WA SENAKADE KATARE! MALIK BEAM!"

i also need to learn the BC itself through the title, right? or was it unlocked with the Sonic Buster? I'm guessing that's the one where he rides on a spinning blade like the spinner from Zelda Twilight Princess? (sorry for example, couldn't think of any others >< LoZ:TP was a terrible zelda game...)

U dont need to learn the move itself. You automatically get it after u get the first title of Sonic Buster Usage. And yeah, Sonic Buster is the 4CC Forward/Backward A attack. And if u have the title called "kakenukeru mono" and also mastered it, it increases the damage of Hi-Ougis by 25% and if mastered, 50%.
In order to get Kakenukeru mono" title, u must use Malik 100 times in a battle. You cant go in as a different character and switch to Malik.
Another side note, Malik Beam destroys red barriers and is very effective against Magic Devils (example, Lambda, lambda's monstrs).

I ended up starting the Future Arc, and it seems a lot better than the rest of the game...*coughnewcontentcough* :)

Richard is actually pretty good. Though I think Namco got lazy and gave Richard one of each character's skill (Asbel's Oborozukiyo, Sophie's Sougetsu, Cheria's Lightning Blaster, Hubert's Antidote, Malik's Syphon Tangle, and Pascal's Ignite Prison) but Holy Lance, and Shooting Star made me forgive Namco for being a bit lazy. What Richard lacks are the Red-barrier destroying attacks. Holy Lance takes years to cast but Richard has a title where he can destroy the red-barriers with just A-attacks.
