Tales of Graces F

Just got past the part where Richard becomes king, and trying to stay spoiler free because this game is fucking great.
Seriously, it's made thrice as better because I just came off the horrendous disappointment that is ME3. All the colors are that much more vibrant. All the background characters are that much more interesting. All the jokes are that much more funny.
Going from ME3 to Graces F is like jumping from a sauna full of lecherous guys into a crystal clear pool filled with lecherous babes. I can't believe how dark the pallet was to that other game, and how fucking WHITE Skyrim was now. Everywhere I go is so colorful I feel like I'm on an LSD trip.
All the voices are really good, too. Glad to see one of my favorite actors got the role of Malik. Nice fit.
Though I will say that Richard's VA, as fitting as his voice seems to me, appears to have a problem with tone. Sometimes he'll say a single sentence with five different vocal inflections. It's not a big problem and the vocal inflections aren't outlandish or robotic, but it does seem...odd. Not that great acting. Good, but not as good as others.
There's also a dissconnect in the skits. The VAs will act their lines like they should and it'll flow beautifully, but sometimes the clips of the characters will be gesturing differently than what's being said. Like:
Asbel get's frustrated after Pascal and Richard call him out on something embarrassing. He sounds frustrated, as his dialogue implies he should, but the character picture looks embarrassed, as if he should be stuttering his line or something.
Again, not a big deal since it's rare and the voices sound natural as well as flow properly, but it's a bit odd.

Just got my copy in the mail today. I'll probably start within the next few days. Also how's the voice acting? I'm not really expecting it to be amazing but is it at least somewhat decent or tolerable?

But to expound a little on what I said: All of the voice actors seem well done, with not only fitting voices but good acting. Richard's VA is the only VA that seems to have some trouble, but it's not very distracting at all.
Since the game's mouth movement is synced to Japanese audio (of which there is none now), some lines of dialogue will finish just a second or two after the mouth has closed. Again, not very distracting and totally understandable. If you played Atlus's "Catherine" you'd get the general idea of how that works.

Oh wow I feel dumb now. I was trying to avoid any spoilers but missed the obvious answer above. Alright well as long as the voice work is good then that's always a plus. And yeah I've played Catherine before. That game had excellent voice work.

Ah, no worries. I've derped far worse, and I understand not wanting to get spoiled. Neither do I.
I'll say that the voice work isn't as natural as that in Catherine (and by that I mean it doesn't sound almost as if it was professionally ad libbed), but it does flow just as well. I'm sure that if you're the type to care about such a thing you'll enjoy the voice work here.
Matter of fact, the same voice actor who voiced the disembodied narrator in Catherine has a prominent role in this game as well. Everyone is very well cast.
This won't be another Arc Rise Fantasia, trust me.

I beat the main game and now I'm about half way through the future arc. This games is so very awesome. Though some of the voice acting is kind of "meh". Is anyone else annoyed by Pascals voice? Or rather just her dialogue. Every-time she says something like "Ka chunka chunka" or "cool beans" it makes me cringe.

So I finished the Main Arc yesterday(50 hours) and started on the Future Arc. This is also my first time having Malik in my party and he's badass. I had Asbel, Hubert, Pascal, and Cheria for the longest time.

Loving this game's battle system, I feel it actually takes a certain amount of skill or tactic.. The story was wayyy too predictable and the dlc costumes are too pricey -.- Then again most tales games you don't play for the story but for the characters because it's usually the predictable plot to save the world, but I could tell this games ending before the Main arc even began.

I just got The game and a new PS3 slim 320 GB last 03/24/2012. I prefer that this game does not consume cc whenever I'm trying to run around the field during battles (although the side steps are quite good whenever escaping multiple enemies). Trying to limit the use of the PS3 since there's been an increase on the monthly charges for electricity...
