Team Recommendations in MvC3??

Okay, I just bought the game.
I have the team of Wolverine, Akuma, Zero.
They're a strong team, and I want some other strong team but I can't seem to think any on my head.
Any recommendations?

My team is Vergil, X-23, and Akuma. Vergil and X-23 are the fast sweepers and Akuma is the defense with enough to not be taken out in a few hits but still be fast enough to evade.

We have a marvel thread, you know...
Not really sure of your proficiency when it comes to fighting games, so I'm going to withhold most of my opinion till I know for sure...
Anyways, it depends on your playstyle for the most part. The whole of your team is good for damage abd rush down, assumibg that you know how to work them properly.
If you want something different, I would a character with a decent beam assist, such as doom, magneto, iron man. If you're one for combo extensions there is wesker, spencer, ammy, dante, x-23, chun-li, doom again, and deadpool.
For cover and potential unblockable mix-ups, there is Felicia, Dante, Doom, Haggard, Ammy, Morrigan, Capn American, Phoenix, Wright, Wesker.
I myself currently use x-23 a/vergil a/ and morrigan b. The tactics and gameplan are simple enough. X.is my point and I'm comfortable with her to do enough damage. I would have her as anchor, but with her lower health, I feel more secure with her at point. Her lvl3 x-factor isn't all that bad either. Vergil is my partial assist/sweep character. I always try to save 1-2 bars of meter with him, and I try to keep combos strong and simple to avoid any dropping. The meter is for devil trigger if he accumlates red health, and for his swords/dimensional slash to adds more damage. Morrigan is my assist/anchor character. I just picked her up recently, so she isn't that solid yet, as far as combos are concerned (I have one fairly long one down, but because of the hits, the scaling is brutal), but I use her for the "Soul Sister Bullet Hell" tactic (astral projection > L Soul Fist > Flight > H Soul Fist > Cancel Flight), once you get it down and can do it fairly fast,, it can be real easy to chips characters to death, and gain meter at the same time (which I honestky think is not fair, as most other "transformation" supers don't allow meter gain, i.e. devil trigger). This tactics was made popular by Chris G btw, so if you want to see it in action, I would suggest looking him up.

If it comes down to it, I would advise you to check out the "Assist Me" youtube series for mvc3.
Though comical, its actually pretty informative and will help out on at least learning the basics for the characters they have done.
With that in mind, I would also suggest looking at streams for marvel (specifically Jaxelrod or Spooky, as I feel those are good marvel streams to watch), and to also check out SRK. SRK or shoryuken.com is a decent fgc site, for just fighting games in general, but it has reliable knowledge for characters as well, so you may be to learn a thing or two, including acquiring a practice partner or two.

Yeah, I go to shoryuken pretty much often. Thank you for your suggestions. I'm practicing the astral projection > L Soul Fist > Flight > H Soul Fist > Cancel Flight. It's quite hard but, i'll manage. Thank you again.

Take a look at some of chris g's matcges to get a hold of the pace you want to match.
I would say I could practice with you, but a friend of mine is borrowing it now.
But anyways, good luck.

Yeah, I'm watching some of his matches right now. He's very good. Once again, thank you.

Maeve has a lot of good points and it'll be great to follow what he said. One thing though about your team formation, Zero as anchor is not that good. Don't get me wrong, he is powerful by himself with some XF, but you get so much more mileage from him being on point or 2nd slot. If anything Akuma as anchor is great for this team. He's mostly a great assist char, does great dmg when meter is available, and he can loop L.tatsu in XF lvl 2-3. Plus Wolverine and Zero both have great synergy with akuma tatsu assist and allows them to use all of their dirty mix ups and gimmicks.
Deadpool is another good character to use, though he is harder to understand to use and more difficult to use effectively than other characters. though he can do over 895K by himself

Doctor Doom, Ammaterasu, Vergil
Doctor Doom for me is an all around spammer and yeah his combo's are quite easy.
For amma and vergil, they were just my personal preference but their speed and flexibility made them my choice.
But to be honest, just try every character and pick up what sticks up to your taste.

DeadPool, Spidey, and Nemesis
DeadPool Alone can own, really, I've never lost one battle using DeadPool.

...Are you serious? Honestly just go for the cheapest sh*t, this game is all about abusing the most broken characters.

My typical team is a combination of either Deadpool/Dante, Taskmaster/Rocket Raccoon, and Iron Man/Doctor Doom. Deadpool and Dante, I use to keep preassure on my opponent. Tasky and RR, I keep around for their defensive play and often switch to them when my opponent is pushing a little too hard. Iron Man and Doom, I like for their long range play. Doom's molecular shield is my go-to assist.
My team's more oriented for more adaptive fighting, kinda like a rock/paper/scissor method of looking at the game. Someone's playing with a close-range fighter like Wolverine, I'll switch over to Tasky and lean hard on his counter specials and arrow volleys. Of course, other people usually build their teams to support their best fighter, but I don't really have a "best" fighter. Just a handful of characters that I know how to properly use in a match.
