The 6 Most Insane Video Games About Dating

I laugh.

My favorite VN of all time, Yume Miru Kusuri, is on that list. They forgot Mizuki's route though. There was one scene where you go to China(?) to gamble, which after the gambling, you two proceed in having sex due to her buying some drugs from some shady person.

Next thing you know, you are choking her while having sex with her on the balcony, in which you two fall off the balcony. You don't die though, since you two fell into a pool below you.

There was also drunken sex mixed in with her route, in which I laughed my ass off after reading that part of the VN. The ending made me cry though. Heck, all the endings of YMK make me cry, especially Akea's.

Manly tears were shed upon this VN called Yume Miru Kusuri.

.... OK, the Pigeon Sim threw me off at the end. That got a good "WTF...?" outta me, but I'm not so sure about the other 5. I've seen FAR worse then any of those titles. Seeing Yume Miru Kusuri on that list just made me facepalm a little. Then again, it's probably one of my top favorite VNs ever, so I'm a little biased, but still... I've seen worse VNs then the one listed.

Well, the fact that YMK is a story that uses "drugs and booze" as a theme, I can see why the reaction of "normal" people who never plays VN is "WTF".

Besides that, Hatoful boyfriend also gave me a WTF face when I first saw the cover in vndb back then... lol

Maybe, but this theme has been used by many other media before, and other VNs as well, so it just kinda threw me off, that outta all the games that could've been chosen for the same reason, YMK got the short stick.

Not only that, but the bullying aspect of the game got a poking to it too. It just made me wonder if the person who made this list actually played these games at all, or just found some pictures of ones that looked off, made some quick notes on each, then picked six, and said they were the weirdest.

Well, it is from a perspective of someone who never played a VN, of course it's going to be very different to us who has played more. All of those are translated, meaning that the writer has very limited knowledge to dig.

If you try to put yourself into the writer's POV, All those games are insane for a "dating sim". In the eyes of those who don't play a VN, they think most dating sims are just Tokimeki memorials. It's even clearer that the writer doesn't know that VNs are more than just dating sims.

So, it's not about YMK getting the short stick, but to the eyes of a non player it's one of the most "weirdest" concepts that a dating sim can have.

I see your point, and I agree, but that's exactly why I have a problem with this list. If it was from someone that understood and played VNs, or someone with a dry sense of humor, then I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it, and might be willing to see them half way at their point.

But it's not, and that irks me to some small amount. It's a likely case that I might be over-thinking or taking it too seriously, but at the same time, for example, on the off chance that if someone stumbled upon this list with a slight interest in trying VNs, or were just getting into them, they'd be missing out on some great pieces of work if this list were to turn them away to some titles, and that kinda sucks.

I don't know. I can agree to disagree, or whatever it may be, but besides one game on that list, I very much don't agree with this list, and in turn, don't find it particularly humorous.

Wow and i thought i had heard everything about Dating sims. :D
But if you think thats insane check out this game called "Conception: Please Give Birth to my Child". It came out on the psp this april in japan. Long story short its about a guy having kids with all these different chicks and then he takes them into dungeons to fight beside him. If this ever hits North American stores i'll be the first one to buy it.
