The Angry Video Game Nerd [size=11](abbreviated as AVGN, occasionally shortened to The Nerd)[/h] is the character of a series of farcical retrogaming video reviews by James D. Rolfe. The show generally revolves around retro game reviews that involve bitter rants against particularly low-quality or poorly designed video games. The series began as a feature on YouTube, and later joined ScrewAttack Entertainment, which would later have three of its features, including the AVGN, transferred to GameTrailers exclusively. The show was formerly known as The Angry Nintendo Nerd, a title that was abandoned to avoid legal issues due to the Nintendo trademark, and because the show started reviewing games on other consoles.
The Nerd character is an ill-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic. He derives comic appeal from excessive and inventive use of profanity, frequent displays of explicit gestures, and heavy consumption of beer, particularly Rolling Rock or Yuengling. A particular characteristic, which has become something of a trademark of his character, is for him to describe, in great detail, extremely repulsive and painful, usually firmly scatological acts, and to claim that he would rather endure them than to play the game that he is reviewing. Varying amounts of physical comedy are mixed into the verbal abuses.

With that done, what's your thoughts about the latest [size=11](Little Red Hood)[/h] episode? I personally thought it was kinda average, not bad, but the game wasn't really that interesting either, even though it was clearly just a mass of the random shit we love to see him rage about.
The vagina comment at the beginning was probably the best part of the episode
Im still waiting for the E.T. episode, seeing as how everyone and their grandma continue to claim that it's the worst game ever made.
AVGN doesn't seem to be in a hurry to review it though.

Indeed, this is long overdue.
The Little Red Hood ep was alright, but didn't have me rolling like some of the others.
I don't think I could pick a favorite episode, but I really like the Ninja Turles (NES game) episode, the Double Vision episodes, one of the Bible Games eps, and the end of the Super Mario Brothers 3 ep with Super Mecha Death Christ. There's more, but I probably shouldn't go listing them all.
AVGN doesn't seem to be in a hurry to review it though.
Yeah, I love how he keeps hinting and teasing about it.

What i would love for him to do is a retrospective on the Zelda series, like the one he just did on Castlevania, that would be total epicness.
And since LoZ:ALttP is one of his favourite games of all time i don't think it's an impossibility either

I like the music they come up with. I really liked the techno remix of his theme song, and I liked the cover of Double Vision by Foreigner.
Also, even though his acting isn't always that good, I really loved the Atari 5200 episode when he was just trying to get it plugged in and working. Using a massive industrial extension cord to get an extra 2 inches really got me. He's had some clever skits.

And the "You Know What's Bullshit" vids are top class.

My favorite reviews by the the James would be The NES Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash game, the SMB3 review, and the cross-over review with the Nostalgia Critic (Doug Walker) of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Making Of Coming Out of Our Shells Tour.

i dont have my SNES anymore nor do i want to play on an emulator in my computer >_>
but his review really makes it look like a good game
speaking of his castlevania review: he mentioned something about chezy voice acting in the PS1 castlevania, i dont see why, it sounds alright to me

I love AVGNs videos. The gimmicks can be a bit of a pain, but I loved the 'Plumbers don't wear ties' episode so so much.
