See that is the problem with that logic ok understand that the original was a 8-bit game and the new Ninja Gaiden games still have platforming...DmC is not a reboot hell both publisher and developer do not know what to call it I got a name for it "shvacunt". Dude I am telling you there is NOTHING new about this game it is so copy and paste...Look that is like me saying I made a new form of jello pudding and all I did was put a stick in it and called it pudding pops...lol
Lol seeing that u have made up ur mind, i can't said anything anymore lol. And about reboots, while it is not the best, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is not a bad game even though the story is a bit mess up.
My friend have you heard of Dark Souls and Serious Sam: First Encounter? Anyone who pirated those two games was met with a pleasant surpise look it up it is so funny...Aw hell I will tell ya pretty much if you pirated the games you met an enemy who is like Nemesis from RE3 but WORSE! Now that is how you fight piracy...
Lol u do understand that pirate does affect some. And no matter what company does it will still break through just like how Pokemon being pirate. Firstly u can't gain any exp but after numerous hack, i believe all of the protection has been broken down.
Ok if that is true then these companies should have the need to spy on the consumer just too send YOUR information too third party companies (I would love too see you defend this one)...lol
Ummm it seems u don't understand, game will sell as long as the company is able to stay in touch with what the gamers want. Why should they care with the number of visitors? As long as they make a good game, promote the game, check whether this game will sell on the other country.(Like how Japanese company tend to thing that the U.S hate anime art style.) They also research on "focus group" for releasing the game or not.(Well not really a good decision on 774 game.)
If the companies feel that this game will sell, they will release it here, if not, they won't release it here. Simple as that. Why do we need to spy on gamer lol. The most important thing is the product.
Then I am sad too say but those guys are crackheads.(yeah I went there)I say this because there is a fakku person on here who admitted to selling his own blood just to get a copy Mass Effect 3...Really? Hmm...that sounds exactly like what a crackhead would do...I mean really look crackheads will sell themselves and property just to get some crack and it is not even the good stuff. Just some ninty-nine percent baking soda and one percent crack mixture. A gamer (a term I hate by the way)will sell their body or property (games) too get a game sequeal that might as well be called dequels because it is a dumbed down version of the original. That said you bought an inferior product. I swear if that said product is not remotely better than the original it automatically fails. Remeber casiopao you even just admitted too me that the Ace Combat recently released was garbage. Do you see my point?
This is where ur wrong lol. Not everyone has the same taste as u lol. For example: I don't really like one game but the others like the game, so can u said that the people who spend their money buying that game is "stupid"? No, because each person preference is just different.
And of course, u do understand that selling their blood to buy one game is just joking isn't it?
On Ace Combat matter, i never said it is garbage lol, i said it does not give me the feel of old AC and don't forget i mentioned that Ace Combat 3DS is better for all of the old AC fans so it is not that all of the new game is bad. It is just that the game does not suit ur taste as i have seen some newcomers for AC series said that the game is interesting.
For u to said that one game must always be better than original? Thats one hell of difficulties u know, as the gamers will have a really high expectation and nostalgia effect on the game which can ended up backfire as the game can not deliver the experience that the gamer wanted for.
Man i am tired lol. If there are still any thing to said, i will just reply tomorrow still has some work to do. For the other fakku'ers keep entertaining him plizzzz lol.

Problem with that statement Castlevania LOS was consider one of the best 3D versions of the series so...

Yeah...That is why I described that option on how two developers are dealing with them. At the same time not hurting their companies image...

See what you fail too understand is that these companies DO NOT listen too people who visit their sites pretty much showing statistic wise what the consumer wants...If the USA hates anime then they better hate Disney cartoons as well I do not give a fuck if it gave you nostalgia...A company feeling that a game will do well? Pfft haha then why are companies still releasing shovelware games then...

Is electronic arts slogan "Challenge Everything"...well most of the time ea does challenge and fails...it is not about my taste as a consumer...we as a community should expect more out of these companies since they want us too pay top dollar...for their products. They have a standard why can't we?

Actually, I'm an Id fanboy. Played every game they made, from Commander Keen to Rage. Only Bioware games I've played in my life was the Mass Effect series. I'm assuming you namedropped Bioware because of my previous posts in the ME thread, which says fuck all for your investigative skills.
Also, the word "pretentious" is an ADJECTIVE, meaning it's used to DESCRIBE a noun (person/place/thing). I believe the word you're looking for is "pretender". I'm also questioning your knowledge to the actual definition of the word, as "pretentious" implies that we feel that we're self-important, which isn't the case here. We just hold you in low regard. I'm also questioning your general knowledge of the English language, as "too" should be used to indicate that a noun applies to a situation IN ADDITION to the one(s) described. It may also be used to indicate an abundance of something, or it's quality. /English lesson. Call me a grammar Nazi, I don't care. I just can't take a cock goblin seriously when he can't even write at a 3rd grader's level.

Yeah i'd rather not waste my time proving myself to someone on a cartoon porn website who is as about significant to me as a piece of bread because my life isn't pathetic like yours.
You stopped being entertaining when you started projecting your social insecurities onto me, so fuck this thread im outta here.

I hate to say it, but in a few ways, Shogun is correct. During the years, games have become less and less creative, innovative, and in some cases, poorly made, and no arguing can change this fact. Part of this is due to the gaming community continuing to buy such games, no matter what state they may be in, and writing it off as enjoyable, either be it their dedication to the series, genre, franchise, or developer.
There's nothing wrong with devotion to any of these, however, I continue to see things produced that make me frown from developers that should A)know better, and B)can do a hell of a lot better.
Don't get me wrong, there's some very nice games out there, for example, Skyrim is highly praised, but it's by far from perfect. While Shogun might be a bit extreme, he's not wrong saying that, in this example, while good, Skyrim does have it's flaws. I think the problem is, is that most people would write off these flaws, since the game is highly valued, instead of stepping back, and realizing they are there, and noting/mentioning them, instead of just writing them off.

I think that's the problem most people had with your argument. You say the industry is failing, which can be taken in a lot of ways, but I don't think that's -quite- the case. We're still a new form of media. We really haven't been around -that- long. If anything, I think it's more like we're still learning, and growing.
That being the case, we're still making quite a bit of mistakes, and when becoming more... what's the word... popular?... we're starting to take on habits we see in other general medias, when we should be working to correct those mistakes.

Allow me to clarify that post which you felt the need to bring up. I don't have the expendable income to pay for video games/movies/music with just my current paycheck. It's part of the problem in todays job economy. So, to make up for this, I go to the local BioLife Plasma Sevices and donate plasma for $20 a visit, 2-3 times a week. I made about $250 last month by doing this. My post saying that I sold blood to pay for ME3 wasn't a lie, but it was exaggerated for the sake of humor. I'm not selling plasma JUST for ME3, but rather, ALL of my entertainment expenses. I'm not so much the crack addict you're implying me to be, but rather some dude who's willing to deal with a needle jabbed in his arm just so he can go the the theaters after work with his friends.
I'm actually surprised at how far you'd go out of your way to write a reply for the sole purpose of insulting me. You know nothing of the people you're insulting on this website and you try to piss them off at a personal level. Thing is, you kinda suck at it. Look, even I can respect a good troll. Hell, I find them downright amusing for the most part. But a lousy one, is the fuckin' epitome of pathetic. Doubly so, when they're on the forums of a porn site.
Edit: @Alex~Kun: I can agree on that much. Soul Calibur 5 was easily the worst game of the franchise due to the developers cutting out all the game modes and extras that gave the previous games so much replay value. Marvel vs Capcom 3 was also guilty of this when Capcom took it further by adding everything in an "Ultimate" version of the same game they released not even a year prior. Even then, it still paled in comparison to the latest version of Street Fighter 4.

This argument again. Games have not become less innovative.
Innovation doesn't happen overnight and in a time where nearly everything that can be made and every creative way of thinking that can be thought, in the majority has in fact already been done. People throw the word of creativity and innovation around like it's something that can be bought and sold on a store. Let me tell you this now, making something new and innovative is fucking hard as shit.
As an architecture student i literally know this fact more than anything else. Tell me, how many ways do you think you could rearrange rectangles and squares in a way that hasn't already been done in the million or so buildings and homes that are already on the Earth? This is the trend that liters the word of design in society today, nearly every type suffers this same sort of situation in their own way.
And also, you talk like the gaming industry is solely just limited to mainstream titles. Have you not heard of Minecraft? I think that's pretty innovative. What about indie games like Limbo and Bastion? And how about the culture phenomenon innovation that is Angry Birds? The video game industry is more than the traditional platform now. If you didn't know mobile/tablet games as an industry are worth roughly $34 billion, almost half of the total net worth of the video game industry. In the next decade it will easily overtake the traditional software games you're accustomed to to become the biggest entertainment industry in the world par sports.

Uh. I guess I agree with a few of the things you stated. Crapcom keeps sending remakes of 2 game series that were good years ago, but lack in the originality department. Microsoft fixed half of their shit, Sony has horrible internet connection for my friends etc etc. I really don't care to much about games so much as they keep my interest long enough for me to not realize it bugs out like a bitch, and the multiplayer is half-assed but still is semi entertaining.
Now, all I have to do is wait for Valve to fish out that Half-Life 3 game that Gabe Newell ate. That fat bastard and his incessant lunch breaks.

I see what you mean however not one person has managed too remotely convince me...
The industry is going too fail...You wanna know the signs that it will fall? Here you go.
Ok the Atari is a perfect example games regardless of how they looked got lots time put into them hence the industry was thriving...
When a movie called TRON came out the hollywood got upset and said that the movie was not only cheap but it had horrible rantings however the movie some how got a cult following no different than The Warriors a 1979 cult classic movie deemed too promote gang violence...Remember people when you tell someone not too watch a film because of a self righteous issue. It will get noticed real fast...
That said hollywood realized that the potential of the industry and made the first movie game. The game was E.T. this game is considered by many too be the worst game of all time...This game COULD have been good if the movie industry did not butt in on the development time. The team got only four weeks too make that game hence why it came out so badly. I would also agree that this is the first microwaved game because they simply did not give this game enough time too be made properly.
This was when gaming itself started too crumble because crappy after crappy games were being made...Then hollywood lost interest and gaming died...for a moment till the developers eventually got their shit together...
Do you not see the pattern...hollywood being involved check, crappy sequeals that are not better than the original check, games being developed in a half assed way check, and etcetera...I could go on but I do not wanna td ; lr(whatever the hell that means).
psbox362, Anesthetize you two pointed out where Capcom and Namco fails but yet you hold tight too supporting other companies why is that? They do the same bullshit if not worse then Capcon and Namduh(pun).
Anesthetize: Innovation does not happen overnight right? Two words Indie Games...you answered your own question man...respect though.
psbox362:Sorry man I did not mean too make humor at that it is just I do not want you guys too get ripped off...I mean here I am caring about another individual on the internet...now I know I am losing my mind.
Just remember people gaming is a hobby it is not an addiction...

Hmm. That's not exactly the point I as trying to make, and maybe I could have worded myself a little better, so allow me to try and rephrase myself;
You're right, there's only so much one can think of using the tools and ideas that they have at their disposal, and they can leave to the human imagination. There have been some great examples of people breaking the norm, and doing new things that have been quite... good.
However, the point I was trying to make is that in some cases, developers seem to take a step backwards, or make errors, that they should know better in making. However, when said developers make these mistakes, after being in an industry for so long, as young as the industry may still be, most people will write off these mistakes, when they should be noting them, and expressing their dislike for them, instead of simply writing them off. This is how we learn and grow as an industry, and if people aren't willing to do that, then we're going to continue to make the same mistakes or errors.
