Please let it be a sequel.
Edit: Here's the countdown site if you want to look at it.

It screams The World Ends With You, but I'd really rather have it not be. As much as I love the game, I'd appreciate if it were just left alone by Square Enix. I don't want the universe to become a huge mess like other Square Enix games that have continuity. I'm also not fond of sequels in general.

if that do make a sequel to the game I pry that it is a whole new cast of characters, it's kinda bleh seeing characters that have completed their story fully come back for some bull shit reason

New cast of characters would be nice. Leave well-and-off alone.
Other than that, I'm happy to have a new game to play on my 3DS.

Actually... S-E had confirmed that it is a iOS port of the original one...

Although I want to believe that the iOS port is just something apart, and that the countdown is for an actual sequel... But knowing how S-E has been recently I just... *sigh*

It's sad they're putting it on a phone. Here I was excited that I was gonna get to play TWEWY on my 3DS. Oh well can't be helped I guess but this really blows.

The countdown isn't over yet so there could still be more..[color=#006FFF]I'm pretty much telling myself this over and over just because it would be the best news ever to have a 3DS sequel. The site has gotten me extremely excited, and it would be more than just a shame for it to all be put toward a mere iOS and (what I assume is a remix) soundtrack. I would hope that Square wouldn't give so many people the finger in such a cruel way.
I'm still holding out hope for the chance that there is going to be one more announcement when the countdown ends--the sequel we all expect from the countdown.
EDIT:
Check the countdown site again people. Prepare for disappointment, as there is no room for any "third thing" to be announced like people were hinting at. It's just the iOS port, and the original. And here's the trailer for the iOS port entitled "Solo Remix". Fuck you, Square.

It's one thing if they're gonna do an iOS port but it's another thing to hype it like this. Seriously square, don't put some fancy countdown up just to be like "oh hey guys it's an iOS game".

[color=#006FFF]Exactly. I really think that, if they were to announce the iOS port/remake nonchalantly and out of the blue, it would have been tolerable, but because they made a big fuss about it and hyped it up to be something the fans of the original would want, it got a ton of backlash. You just don't hype up something like it's going to be a sequel (at best) or at the very least something new just to turn the other way and give us a port to iOS.
Granted, the enhancements (HD art/graphics, new music, remixed tracks, revamped gameplay, etc.) all sound interesting, if not good, but because I was hoping--and at some points even expecting--a full blown sequel for the 3DS, I can't help but feel like this entire countdown fiasco was just a big "F you" from Square to the long-time fans of the original. Especially after having seen the cast in 3D graphics in Kingdom Hearts.

Apparently there's a teaser at the end of TWEWY Solo mix. I wonder what SE is up to this time?
Here's the image.
The girl is cute and the "7 days" is making me think sequel or spin-off. However the teaser site made me think the same thing a few days ago. For now, I'll remain optimistic because I doubt SE will throw us under a bus a second time.

The image looks like it's a sequel. Given that the stuffed doll looks like Mr. Mew, I'm assuming that it's the daughter of Shiki and was given Mr. Mew, which Shiki kept in top condition from her sewing skills. The headphones also point to Neku's influence, since he's the only one from the original that could give that influence. My assumption is that it's the daughter of Shiki and Neku, despite the hair colour belonging to neither of the two.
She will likely have complete control over pins, but also have the ability to manipulate Mr. Mew like Shiki did, but in a manner similar to the Rhyme pin. This will become a plot point later, as she will be unable to locate a Partner and have to forge a contract with Mr. Mew, whom she can control even in the separate plane. Instead of sitting back and watching things, this time the Composer will either be the main antagonist, or a very helpful ally warding off an Angel trying to become the Composer and picking up the plan from the original The World Ends With You's plan.
That's what I get from that picture, anyway. I'm still not for a sequel, but that's what that picture tells me. If I get this right, you all will treat me like a god for a day.

Good observation. I did't even think of Neku and Shiki having a daughter. The headphones and Mr. Mew does make it sound somewhat possible though.
