What are some Video Game themes that bring out nostalgia?

Halo: Combat Evolved.

Everytime you open the game, this song welcomes you.
And gives you that "prepare-to-kick-some-ass" feeling.

I always played Combat Evolved when I was young.
I remember how many times I raged because of how cheap the needler is.

Fucking good memories man...

Final Fantasy X - Wandering Flame



First time I heard this, with the scenery of ruined Zanarkand basked in twilight and Tidus narrating, I was crying without noticing. Then (laugh if you have to) I had the urge to go hug my mother because I felt incredibly lonely.

This theme right here is eternal in my OST library of best stuff ever. Before you play Odin Sphere through, this theme represented a wonderful story about to be discovered, created feelings of adventure, & prepared you for a world full of intrigue. After you beat Odin Sphere, this theme represented how everything eventually all tied together, & all those wonderful feelings & changes you felt along the way. And it did so perfectly.



FFXII OST is fucking wonderful in general, yet is mostly forgotten likely due in part to FFXII being a pretty ignored title despite it kicking more ass gameplay wise than just about all the FF games before it. This one in particular stuck to my mind because everytime you heard this track, you felt that "shit was about to go down", and during the entire fight you knew to be on your toes, or die.



One of the few vocal tracks that just weave through your entire being while listening to it. There is something about this song that just makes my....everything sing. The emotions evoked while listening are pretty real too. This song is powerful, and you WILL remember it everytime you hear even the smallest hint of it.

hmm.. Aeriths theme from ff7 is quite a good one.
the intro from swiv, that used to be my favourite song when I was younger. would load up the game and crank that for ages :D

also, halo intro, kingdom hearts intro (the first real cinematic where he fall from blah onto the island) and also I'll add... this.. more so for the video, but fuck it gives me some nostalgia... I'm half getting a nostalgia boner from watching it :3

As Sonic the Hedgehog fan I loved the music from Sonic Generations. I then came across many mashups between the originals and the generations remixes. Open Your Heart was my absolute favorite theme ever in Sonic Adventure. Finding a mashup of it done on Youtube gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
