LOL. Don't hate. He was featured in 5 other games outside god of war and his image appeared in "The Simpson's game" too as a parody. Kratos has the best adventure i'v seen from all the video games i played apart from Nathan Drake(Uncharted).

That doesn't change the fact that he has no real personality. Opinions, opinions. All depends on how deep you want to look. As for me, Kratos is just as interesting as a strand of hair on a fat mans stomach.

I'd also like to add every NPC from the Fable series. HOLY CRAP do they piss me off sometimes.

Please, please play the Devil May Cry series if you have not yet done so. Avoid DMC2 like the plague, though. The gameplay should be easy enough to pick up, as God of War wishes it was this game.

I have to agree with Invictus. Kratos was a rather boring character. If it wasn't for the fact that he fucking murdered every living thing that he came accross in his games, I would probably say that Kratos is the walking definition of a tool. Just about everyone in that game was able to play him like a fiddle (prior to falling victim to the aforementioned murders) and he kept falling for their ploys every single time as if he didn't learn his lesson after the first 8 times it happened.

For Sephiroth, you left out a few things:


Are you judging characters based on how you see them or after you've played the game?For you to leave out the first reason, I doubt you've actually played FFVII.

As for Cloud, there are reasons why he's acting all emo IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME.


After all this, he actually becomes normal. Not the kind of stuff you see in dissidia and shit like that .. They just take him while he was still messed up.

I think the only problem with this is that the more popular a character is and the more he/she is talked about and idolized the more people will hate them.
It's not so much that the characters are unlikable, it's just too much attention.

Did anyone play Crackdown or Crackdown 2? Seriously, c'mon. That fucking dude always screaming in your ear about shit you're not doing because you're too busy stealing helicopters and blowing up large groups of people.

1/ Spehiroth: I think the reason he become immortalize is because of his story. Dude went from the greatest well respected heroes to finding out he nothing but a freak from an experiment, then he snap and try to kill the whole fucking planet for a sever head, seriously that a 10/10 on the villian crazy scale,also he manipulate the main hero the entire game up till the last freaking moment. Also slap on a kick ass villian theme song, one black wing, a freakishly long katana, and a voice that sound dark and evil in both english and japanese. They have yet to make another villian like him.

2/ Kratos: I agree that he lack depth. Aside from the sob story they dude got nothing but rage and brutality. But he the kind of guy that give you a break from the "save the world", "work for the greater good" heroes, and just freaking go on a rampage and kill all the people that was thought impossible to kill in the most bloody and brutal method, check your memories for what he did to apollo in GOW3, that only seen in mortal combat.

3/ Seymour: You left out the bastard smug sense of self. The fact that I can never quite sure if he fat or it because of his wardrobe. And the disappointment that you can not kill him in a horrific enough manner. And funky hair.

The least you could do is actually have a good reason rather than basing it on things that actually make them stand out rather than become another carbon copy of the usual hero or villan. Sadly, haters just want to keep hating even with poor reasoning.
