Not going to read through the whole thread, but it's pretty irritating how many games are by default so easy-mode for gamers nowadays because people don't want to adapt and can't handle a challenge.Speaking of difficulty, I agree that a lot of games are too easy nowadays, but there's also the problem of some games being too hard. It's like there's no middle ground. Either the game is too easy, for the so-called casual gamers, or too hard, for the so-called hardcore gamers.
Another thing that pisses me off, though it doesn't have much to do with actual games, is the division between "casual" and "hardcore" gamers. It's as if you're either one or the other. It's apparently not possible to like games with good, serious gameplay and at the same time like games that are simple and fun.
yep this is really annoying, its difficult to enjoy a hard game if its too hard and makes you rage, while easy games dont last very long

Shitty console->PC ports.
Dumb AMERIKKA R HEROES storylines.
DRM.
Retard gamer friendly difficulties only.
Stupid, clichéd shit all over the place; even worse when it believes itself to be "tongue in cheek".
Pre-alphas sold as gold status.

That's why I love games like the Tales, Star Ocean and Persona series... I like to crank the difficulty.
If I look at stuff like... Wild Arms or Suikoden, that's way too easy... >_>
Other games like Devil May Cry I totally suck at and I thank god for easy difficulty levels there...

Video game difficulty isn't much of a problem with me, since despite playing games for most of my life, I really do suck at them! So i'm usually a complete pussy and go for easy mode.
Although lately i've been going for the harder modes, but only for delicious trophies.
But a bigger problem I find is that too many video games are incredibly short these days, if you ask me video games are something that are meant to be long. I loved Bioshock 2 but completed it in 2 damn days, I might've played it near non-stop but it was much too short.
I suppose right now companies don't see 'Length=profit' I know a long good story doesn't mean good sells, but I find myself lately always disappointed and thirsty for more out of games these days..

Honestly, I don't mind too much if games are too short, given that it has good replay value. (Multiple endings being a good example.) Hence the Armored Cores I've been revisiting. Beat them four or five times, and still haven't gotten everything I want. That or I go race around on Forza 3, want a good time waster, go run a 31 lap race on something.
