I'm level 12 with 53% atm on PSN. So I guess I am as crazy about trophies as you...
Dead Space Platinum was easy to get. Right now I'm working on the Prince of Persia platinum, but the "combo specialist" trophy is giving me trouble...

If I don't look at the trophy list, I'm fine. But once I see 'em, my habit kicks in and I try to get 100%.

Level 12! Woot! My completionist side wants to see 100% in all my games.
Currently trying to platinum FIFA 10, Dragon Age, Infamous, and RDR. I have a thing for time consuming trophies. I would also have the Burnout platinum but I'm to cheap to buy a camera.
My proudest trophy so far is my GTAIV platinum. I cried tears of joy and relief when I got it.

I don't have a PS3 (yet) but I am an Achievement Whore. :DSame. I'm not too bad about it... yet. As a matter of fact, I don't have any game 100% completed despite having a couple of easy ones like Eternal Sonata and Oblivion.
I do try to get as many of the achievements as I can without having to put an insatiable amount of effort into the game. Like I know I'll never manage to fix my gamerscore. It ends in a four or nine because of Infinite Undiscovery. I know I'll never beat the Ethereal Queen on Infinity mode, so my score will never end in a five or zero again!

I have a large number of trophies but no platinums. Most likely because games never keep me interested long enough nowadays.

Nah, don't really collect trophies. Maybe I'd do a 100% in-game that gave you something. Not much of a gamer; I only have 2 games for PS3.

the last game i tried to play to get all the trophies for was from the god of war series. i couldnt find all the uber chests and i got frustrated. i might try again but that one thing is kinda annoying even with cheats i always seem to miss something

I personally find the idea of trophies and achievements dumb. Earning them does nothing for you, it has no significance whatsoever. Now what would be cool is if earning them gave you some extra credit bonuses on PSN or the X-Box live arcade, but that is not the case sadly.

I despise the concepts of trophies and gamerscore. Aside from them being completely useless, and massively devalued by everyone else who has them, I feel like putting trophies there for you to work for is like telling you how to play the game - 'kill x number of enemies in x time with x weapon'.
If I do that accidentally while playing, then cool. That's kind of a show of skill. When they put all of the trophies/achievements there for you to work for, I don't get that. You're just slaving away and ignoring the actual game to extend your e-penis, and that isn't my idea of fun.

And since it's true to get trophies is somewhat demeaning, it's quite satisfying when you've achieved something. I mean, it's the same in real life. Granted, those who show off their trophies are faggots, but I like trophies just for the sake of it.

I guess it depends on the game. Many games I play have no achievements/trophies to gather, like RTS and old FPS games. On the other hand, just the other day I was able to get Safety First achievement on Left4Dead, attaining 68/68 achievements. I have to admit, I was really happy about that since I've spent a little more than a year and a half playing L4D, sometimes striving achievements but most of the time just enjoying the game.
The one good thing about achievements/trophies is that they can provide the gamer with goals to achieve for longer replayability. I mean, you could play L4D for 6 hours and be done with the campaigns, but achievements add that little impetus to strive for something.

Yes, achievements and trophies do effectively add to the overall time spent on a game for me. My approach is to just play through as I would and whatever I get, I get. Once I beat the game, I'll go and try for some filler achievements. Rare is it that I go for the ultra-completionist achievements though.
Another handy thing about achievements is when one of your friends is a compulsive liar. "Dude, I beat MW2 on Veteran already" I check his gamercard, "No, you didn't"

Now if he had lied about beating World at War on Veteran I would have given him a swift kick to the nads. That is quite possible the hardest trophy to get that I've ever encountered...Next to the Street Fighter 4 and Disgaea 3 trophies.

Not saying it was hard by any measure. I just don't much like liars.
As for Disgaea 3, I can bet that pretty much any trophy list from an NIS published game will be ridiculous.

Fixed that for you.
RPG lists are ridiculous. For example, I read WKC can take up to 1000 hours to platinum. Collecting all items and crap like that is complete bullshit.
Dragon Age is probably the only RPG that got it right.
