Well sense I haven't found a thread for it so far might as well spread the news of a game I just found called ... well Unepic as the topic suggests.
Its a pretty simple Platform RPG, fight beasties, level up, find loot, buy stuff. It does have a decent sense of humor but it does have a metric ass ton of references to other nerdy stuff (eg At one point upon entering the sewer Zoidberg ran across my screen, was laughing too hard to screen cap it.)
As for the game play it is fairly fun. A bit clunky for my tastes but not overly so. the platforming parts really don't cause that much frustration. There are also a few Beginner traps but they are easy to get the hang of. But then again it IS an indie game.
All in all a pretty good game.

I was like, where have I heard of this.... where have I heard of this... a-ha!
...seems pretty cool, honestly. Has a fucking brilliant sense of humour, I give you that much. The gameplay seems passable and its held up on its writing so I might actually have to pick this up at some point. Reminds me a bit like a cross between Cthulhu Saves the World, Dungeons of Dredmor, and the Metroid-vania sub-genre.

That is actually a pretty good description. The game play is actually a bit more fun than it looks believe it or not. Also yea I found TB's vid like right after I got the game.
Though as a tip if you are not going to use a Mace try to pick up some sort of magic, otherwise the skeltons with screw you over hard.

How much does the game cost?
Edit: Nevermind, I just checked. A few euros or $10. Seems reasonable. I shall add it to my "buy at some point" list :)
