Vanguard Princess

Anybody here has ever played this awesome Freeware? Im vaguely remember having a topic of this game a long time ago, but I don't see it anymore. Anyway, the current version has updated animations for characters And the upcoming Vanguard Princess prime is gonna include 2 new chars! love the way the game looks, love the shameless fanservice, but I hate the way this game plays.

How long has this been out. I can't remember. Its nice to see some new characters. I didn't think it was going to be updated with some back then.

I used to have this game awhile back. It's actually REALLY GOOD. I'll download it again since it'll have some new characters. That sounds interesting~

Ah Vanguard Princess...I really love this game<3. It's pretty fun to play and moreover and it does not has to hide behind any commercial games :3.

Btw heres a wiki page about Vanguard Princess, it also provides an English locale version of this game ( that means you don't have to switch to Japanese locale in order to play this game).

Edit: Btw in case you guys don't know, theres a program called lunaport which helps you to play online via other players. The download for it is included in the wiki page of Vanguard Princess mentioned earlier.

Sweet! Haven't played this game and almost a year and there's 2 new characters to boot. Guess it's time to download and play again :)

Well, not sure if you guys have heard of this game or not, (I couldn't find posts about this game on these forums...) But I was looking for a free game to play one day and I just so happened to stumble upon this... A doujin 2-D fighter reminiscent to Street Fighter! To me, it looks like a gorgeous game with lovely sprites and animations! And on all that, its a free game as well! I am playing it currently and having a lot of fun with it!

I briefly tried trying it. For some reason it wouldn't recognize the dpad on my controller (and I derped out and forgot about xpadder), so I dropped it.

awes... I use motionjoy with my ps3 controller, and it works pretty well. Still not that good though, I need to work on my combos a bit more...

I use the same, but it didn't read input from my D-pad... Did you emulate as Xbox 360 pad?

Oh no, I emulated the Ps1 controller. Whenever you pick what control type you want, you unplug the usb cord from the controller and plug it back in again. That way, the controller reads it as a Ps1 controller. I had the same problem when I try to use the Ps3 controller setting, because the controller kept using my analog sticks when I wanted to use the D-Pad. Oddly enough though, it won't read, both D-Pad and Analog sticks, from my experience anyway...

I use it on wireless. Will try emulating it as another type of controller if I ever get around to it again. Are there sufficient amounts of opponents for netplay (I'm EU)?

Well more or less during the day, there's at least a few guys that'll hop on and play. Including myself, I am from the US though. But I managed to play with someone from Canada fairly well... So it depends. Always hop on the IRC and find out though. you never know.
