Yeah I haven't been on here for awhile and have no idea where this belongs but recently I've starting gaming and recording it and putting it on youtube. I feel like a whore -_-'. Anyways I'd like to see this become bigger. Think this is a dumb idea?

I wanted to give this a go however the hardware i got was very poor and took too much effort in order to get a decent video...even the simple act of cutting the video to a more manageable size proved difficult :(

The real problem was being part of the luck of the draw for longer than 15 minute videos. I got lucky.

would be cool but when i brought it i was using it for FIFA and the matches lasted a good 20 minutes lol
besides it wasnt the length, but the cutting of the boring stuff out like running around, unproductive moves etc etc

There are enough game-play videos out there, unless you are content to just be another youtube channel, you need to set yourself apart from them.
- Cut out or speed up the boring content.
- Edit the video well, Use overlays to display info about what you are doing or thinking.
- Gather other linkminded people to work on content with you (So you are a group and not a youtube loner)
- Be provocative, get people commenting and discussing.

well one thing that you are missing is a viral video or staring in one because it is hard to get started. like pink tempest said their are a lot of people that make gameplay videos so you need to get your name out there or else you will be a part of the thousands of people with only a hundred views per video

Sony Vegas is a really nice piece of software, I've seen my brother making video game videos with it in the past. Once you get presets set up it's so easy to use.

It looks pretty similar to the IGN gameplays that looks pretty much the same except yours is far less popular and doesn't have advertisement. Try talking or something.

but at the same time I respect people who take time to record, edit, and post high quality videos on youtube for my enjoyment. That's a lot of effort. >_
