VNs with ONLY Pure Love Story

I think what would make understanding this thread easier would be, instead of "PURE LOVE story", to call them "pure LOVE STORY". A small change in emphasis can change so much.

Why hadn't I though of that.... You sir, are a genius.

I should've put an apostrophe or something between that can distinguish it, since some people read it as "PURE LOVE" which means love in it;s purest form, while I meant "pure LOVE" , where the game only revolves on Love only without any major drama or any other story flavor.

If this was a discussion about Ice Cream, it's like this:

"People doesn't care about Vanilla anymore, they only like (insert modern flavor here) and will say that an Ice Cream with Only Vanilla is not "tasty enough".

"Do you think that Vanilla flavor is underrated/not appreciated as much as other vanillas that has been modified into a different flavor?"

"Can a VANILLA ONLY Ice cream sales more now?"

Perhaps a more valid analogy...

Consider that the many if not most of the early videogames were sports simulations (barring spacewar, which was a gravity simulator). Sports games still sell rather well, however the majority of their consumers would perhaps not fall under the unbrella of "gamers".

Likewise with eroge, they started out with simple romances, however they have since come to cater more to the "gamer" mentality. Given that there is very little (i.e. none) casual eroge demographic, it stands to reason that the demand for simple barebones eroge would be in short demand.

I have never said that I actually Lumped them together, and H-scenes are a different matter. Like I said this thread is about Vns that doesn't have excessive elements other than a love story and not how those Love stories are used to get or not to get H-scenes



Why even bother posting if you don't even care.

Thats what this poll is all about,what other people think of only a simple plain love story(minor plot twist are included for obvious reasons)for example Romeo and Juliet.Normal,Overrated,Highly Appreciated,Not Appreciated or Underrated.

Seeing alot of genres now its always good to go back to the basics.

It's just too bad that they aren't any pure love VNs being released nowadays, or is there? If there are then someone please tell me about them.

yup, it's the wrong example, Romeo and Juilet's drama was Over the top, the fight between the two family, suicides, sad ending...

In the end the most notable example is the VN "True Love".

In the end this can be "The Decline of Dating Sims Vns"

Ah so a simple eloping becuz they love each other couple isn't a love story.Well VNs are diffrent from love stories to drama but a story with nothing more than 2 people saying or doing things lovey dovey would be sad to endure.A story needs some direction if you know what I mean and In Romeo and Juliet's pure LOVE story the the fight between the two family, suicides kept the story moving.The ending was sad so maybe but it all started out of LOVE :p

like I said, this is more about Vns that only has a simple Love Story, not heavily spiced with other things to show that Love is strong. The problem with Romeo and Juliet : overdrama, Family feud and suicides as a plot device.

Look at To Heart 2, that VN still retains it's popularity till this time with only a simple love story. Or even Better To Heart which has become an Icon in the Otaku culture despite it doesn't rely on Heavy drama for a plot device.


It'a not about how strong the couples Love or what makes love so special.

It's about the simplicity of the Love Story itself, which I think is declining in the VN industry.

Damn, I just wish there were more VNs like To Heart 2, I can just read them without any worry for some kind of conflict.

Still on my "to play" list so be can't say anything about it.
