Have played Pokemon series at DS ?
liek Pokemon Diamond, HeartGold or SoulSilver ... it's better than "good"
and even i'm not a fan of Square Enix ..
i would recommend Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days ...
* EDIT *
^ sorry .. my advice is for global DS games

I'm currently playing on a DS emulator and here are some RPG worth trying:
Luminous Arc 1,2 and 3 if it's out
Sands of destruction (the game where the anime World destruction came from)
ffta2: story wise it's really low but the gameplay never fails.
Chrono trigger: ...best.... 2d .... rpg.... evah... erm.
There is also a SMT but i don't know much about it

(luminous arc 3 has been confirmed? What.)
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Valkyrie Profile is pretty good, it's in a vein similar to FFTA.
Suikoden Tierkreis is decent, but far too easy. But I still put in about 50 hours, so all is well.
Harvest Moon/Rune Factory It's a farming sim, which doesn't sound all that awesome on paper...but in practice... It's addicting, the DS games haven't really filled the N64's version shoes, but they aren't bad.
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is snarky, and it has amusing characters...and Kaguya. It wins.
The World Ends With You is pretty innovative(relatively speaking) and it has adjustable difficulties, which you can access on the fly. Combat was fun, if unwieldy sometimes as the AI is about as dumb as rocks, especially on higher levels. (You can cheese it by making their defense really high though).
There are like 100 Dragon Quests if that's your thing, and Final Fantasy is always a good choice.
Just do yourself a favor, and get Tetris DS. If you take anything from this post, take TETRIS, DO EET NAO.
(yet another edit): For original games, try Rhythm Master and Bangai- O Spirits. The former is exactly what it says on the tin, the latter is pretty much bullet hell...a lot of bullet hell.

Is it complicated because I read a guide on marriages and god my head turned upside down >.<

Not really. Thats usually half the fun btw, marriages and establishing friendships (though there aren't as many perks as there were in the N64 version...curses) I suggest you go for RF first, get a feel for the general game mechanics, before going into the regular ones, where you want to bash your head against the wall sometimes.

Yeah definitely Devil Survivor. Well, Strange Journey isn't that bad but I guess it's just how they made it. Also, try out
Knights in the Nightmare. IMO, It's supposedly one of the hardest games on the DS. You could also try out
Ketsui Death Label if you're in to Shumps.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin.
A more darker set spin of advance wars. Good game so far if you like the series cept the AI goes bezerk...You make 1 helicopter and you'll find yourself the most insane Anti-air defense ever
