We all know that we wait so long for that game, but when we play it, it fails to meet our expectations from what we were fed for the past 2 years about it. My question is, whats yours?

Grand theft auto 4. They just took sooooooooooooo much out in terms of gameplay.
After seeing so many improvements over the trilogy on the ps2 and some of the cool things in Vice city stories like being able to bribe your weapons back after you get busted/wasted was really cool and fun, but they took out nearly all of that... it's like they focused 90% of the time on the graphics and 10% on the rest.

Mine would be Final Fantasy Crystal Chronical The Crystal Bearers. Its a good game, but its too short the controls are akward, and the last boss is impossible

White knight chronicles, most recently. It looked awesome from the videos, but gameplay made me sad. I traded it back in and bought Star Ocean, and now I'm happy again.

Tony Hawks Project 8. The previous tony hawk's games (THUG, THUG2, THAW) were super awesome. Then they chose to throw away the awesome skating mechanism and build a new one focused on realism. They fucked it all up. Big time.
FFXII. "Oh wow, look at those graphics. And look at the new battle system!" yea, right. What a boring and confusing game that was. And it seems like FFXIII has gone into deep shit too.

Grand theft auto 4.I totally agree, that game should have been so much better.
And Neverwinter Nights 2 when that was released 4 years ago. Damned Obsidian to screw up good games. Same problem here, they've focused way to much on the graphics, which was great, especially for that kind of game. But the story was weak in so many ways. :(

That reminds me, also Earthbound 64. Yeah, this was a long time ago, but I love the game earthbound and when they first announced the 64 version I was psyched. Then came the screenshots, and finally the notice that it was canceled. So sad...

Borderlands. Fuck, that game looked so awesome when its name was first mentioned. I played it for a total of 50 minutes.
Far Cry 2.
I.
Loved.
The first one on PC (Not those terrible ones on the consoles with predator powers). I probably played Far Cry 2 for about 4 hours. Couldnt get into it at all. It seems that too often many game companies have tried to go into the "free world" sandbox type gameplay and just utterly made a crap game.
Others with no explanation needed;
MW2
Fallout3
Battlefield Bad Company

Samurai Legend Musashi, the sequeal to Brave Fencer Musashi. I played a little of the first game from my friend and I loved it, given I was like little. I played SLM, and it was ...decent I guess. Though it was pretty hard, I kept on dying. The very end was a complete letdown. I guess it was... a little too abrupt in it's ending. And there was one part I was completely confused at and it turns out all I had to do was hit 'X' at this gate.
Meh. I guess I expected too much.

RED ALERT 3...
EA totally succeed in SCREWING up Red Alert series with that....
The graphic totally hurt my eyes that makes me closed it just after 10 minutes of play...

Too many to list here.
Some are (games that I actually own):
Final Fantasy XII
Seiken Densetsu 4 (Dawn of Mana)
Bleach: 放ãŸã‚Œã—野望 (Hanatareshi Yabou)
Tales of Legendia
Somebody said TF2 console version, I had a blast playing it... but there aren't that many people playing it anymore, PC>Console in this case

Assassin's Creed.
Play a few levels then stop completely after I realized I was playing the same thing over and over again.

Eternal Sonata. I was so blinded by the fact that it's an RPG that i forgot to look at anything other than that fact. But when i brought it, i realized that it was a total waste......Story was boring, battles were repetitive *and the gameplay goes like (cutscene->battles->cutscene->battles), no customizations and other things that would make the game at least a little unique.
From my point of view it was no better than Link: Faces of Evil.

Supreme Commander 2..
Simplified multi-plattered game that failed it's older brothers by a milage.
Hopefully they rethink their design on next SC if they make one and make it right.. Supreme Commander isn't one of those games that need a good story or anything. It's the multiplayer and diversity of tactics one can employ.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006. Why didn't Sega listen to the testing department? Why? (Don't answer, I already know.) I could have waited for a Sonic 2K7 if I new the game would be so buggy.
