What game did you look forward to has failed you?

These are a bit old, but...

Sequels that completely missed why the original game was fun:
Xenosaga
Deus Ex 2
Chrono Cross
Metal Gear Solid 3
post-SNES Mega Man X games

Hyped games that were significantly compromised:
Black and White
Oblivion
Final Fantasy X
Halo

Too many.

Bioshock 2(Story just wasn't as great)
Modern warfare 2(Might as well have been modern warfare 1.5 for how new it was compared to the first and the problems it brought).
Fallout 3(No comment)
Dragon age
alien versus predator

1ST ONE SUCKED TOO MUCH TO GET THE 2ND ONE

I was like: "Omg this is gonna be awesome!"

Then I kept hitting hotels and going to jail.

Which brings up a point. WHY do you go to jail in that game? I mean really? What the hell did you do to deserve that?
Fucking Hasbro...

And turning off the sarcasim and going onto the real topic:

Darksiders - Really had too much puzzle shit and not enough combat. Felt too much like I was playing an RPG instead of an action game.


Aliens v.s. Predator's online mode - It wasn't really balenced... not too much fun. Just kinda sucked.

Red Faction - The campaign demo was really awesome. But the game was so... dumb. I never needed a gun. All I did was use the proxy mines to kill literally everything I needed to kill and blow up everything I needed to blow up. The online play was just horrid... I mean, a giant lightning gun that shoots like 180 degrees around you with an insta-kill effect? Ugh...

OH AND LET'S NOT FORGET

Halo 3 - So many reasons... sooo many....
It fails to people who actually played Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 before the mention and popularity of Halo 2's online and Halo 3. Failure... such failure...

One of my biggest disappointments was probably Deus Ex 2, still worth playing, but having every weapon share ammo with every other weapon makes it a bitch if you don't become an ammo whore and punch people in the face all the fucking time... although taking out more than half of the enemies in the game by punching them in the face is very satisfying. There's more reasons why it was disappointing but... I'm tired and can't think.

FFXIII Looks like its going to fail somehow.
Other then that, Modern Warfare 2 proved not to be all that great.
Yeah campaign backstabbackstab here oh surprise launching the nukes down with the russians hoo-hah knife throwing action endgame.
What? It was OK, but wasn't AMAZING.
Multiplayer?
I get bored of playing the same matches over and over again with people raging on the mic.
Now lets see how the new Bad Company is going to turn out..

I agree with Banjo Nuts n Bolts and Supreme Commander 2, but Bioshock/Assassins Creed/Far Cry 2 I disagree with. Those games were cool beans.

Say that when the game comes out. Until then its just info based on people who has imported the game.

Sadly, big fail.

And when i remember some games that failed, in my opinion for me those games are:

Medal of Honor Pacific Assault.
Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour.

And sadly most, not all, the games of Macross for PSX, PS2, PSP, and any other consoles.

^- why? pacific assault was like the best FPS out at the time IMO.

Well i said "in my opinion", i didnt like it cause the gameplay, the controls are so complicated and the game itself, dunno really didnt like it.

And if i remember well, this game was the first game that EA made without the original staff of MOH, those guys made a very good game Call of Duty.
Cant remember if this was the case.
