What got you playing FPS??

Doom got me into it and Golden Eye made it a genre I wanted to play pretty often.

Duke Nukem 64 was my first FPS. Old school FTW!
But the ones I enjoy the most is Unreal Tournament and the Medal of Honor games.

Oh well, it was Counterstrike for me as well. Its still one of the most played games online after all those years. And honestly, its hard to make a game so good, that it´d last this long.

Doom. For the the blood, killing, punching faggots with a spiky ring, the chainsaw(especially the chainsaw), etc.

Half-life, 'nuff said.

Counter Strike [back when I was 13]. Recently though? Left 4 Dead.

Alien Vs. Predator for the Atari Jaguar.

The first FPS i truly liked was Timesplitters: Future Perfect for the PS2, but then i met Resistance: Fall of Man and fell in love with its sexy weapons. Then I was introduced to Call of Duty 4 and it's become the staple of our LAN parties. Now i can only look for FPS's that match the awesomeness of said titles for a little variety. I tried Section 8, which is pretty cool, but has little variety. World at War just fails next to Modern Warfare, and I can't aim for shite in Counterstrike. I've been trying to get Left 4 Dead and TF2 working for me (Kenya, steam makes gaming FUN! /sarcasm,) but i've been failing.

Doom. The shareware back in '93 was incredible at the time. I remember that if you hadn't played Doom, you were pretty much a loser... Since I knew nothing about computers the way I got it was from a friend that had it on like six floppies. Played the mess out of those eight levels.

Sadly... I still play it every so often.

Nothing, since i play everything, rpg's, mmo's, fps, 3rdps, strategy, platform...
But, since you guys are specific hungry wolves and will haunt me in my dreams if i don't awnser the question... I think it was Return to castle Wolfenstein or sumthing.

I hardly ever played any FPS's, i stuck to my rpg's from my snes to my ps2. then of course i get a 360 and everyone tells me to get bioshock since it was gonna rock... and it did. that got me into other games like mass effect, and then i graduated to Modern Warfare of course. now my life is being sucked slowly by MW2.

Haha, excellent. Sounds a lot like my revival into the genre except Mass Effect and Bioshock were switched around.

Unreal Tournament Lan games over the high school intranet.It took the local council about 3 months to figure out why their network was in such a state at certain times of the day.
