What would be the most epic classic RPG if remade?

If a classic RPG (PS1 and earlier) were to be remade, what would be the best one? If you have more than one tied, you may list them. Also, try to give a reason to keep a real discussion going instead of just a random list of RPGs. This does not necessarily have to be your favorite game, as some would turn out better than others simply due to the amount of emotion they could add that held the games back in the past.

My personal vote, goes for Final Fantasy 7. I am replaying this game now, and unlike most, it is NOT my favorite FF. I honestly think it's one of the worst. It clashes with it's own story when you put together all the prequels and sequels, and it majorly lacks the emotion that it strives so hard to achieve. If they remade it, I'm sure they would tie up lose ends in the story. As for the emotion.

I'd have to vote for Secret of Mana. Too bad they have totally screwed up the Seiken Densetsu series, but a remake of Secret of Mana would make me very gleeful. ^_^

P3 with the ability to control your allies individually? I know it ain't a classic, but it'd make the game oh so much better battlewise.

I want Suikoden 1 and 2 to be remade. Ah, Legend of Dragoon too. Because epic games are epic~~~

Xenogears. Fix the pacing problems on disk 2. Also, full 3D or hi-res sprite work (or at least different portraits) would really help give the characters more variety in emotion.

Earthbound for the SNES! I love that game, and I just know that if they remade it, it would kick ass. It was sad enough that they never followed through on that N64 version they were planning on, so remaking this one would be sweet. There'd be voices to add another layer of humor to an already pretty funny game, and perhaps a bit more complicated battle system. I would love to see Psi used not only in battle, but also to solve puzzles. And whenever Jeff makes something during the night, maybe they can have you actually assist in the creation of his new items and weapons. There is alot of room for embelishment and fun here.

The original Super Mario RPG. Maybe a 1.5 version to be honest, add a little more to it in the way of story and character interaction.

Legend of Mana gets my vote. I'd love to see that game remade. (Is it me, or does every Mana game past the PS1 suck?)

Super Mario RPG gets my other vote. Awesome game. And the cake battle is the best.

I love the Seiken Densetsu series, but everything after Legend was horrible. Secret of Mana and SD3 deserve remakes. ;_;

One of the reasons it ain't recognized enough is cause, lets face it Zidane isn't as epic a hero as most of final fantasy heroes. I enjoyed it to say the least.

Yes, isn't it obvious? Secret of Mana = most epic RPG. Most epic RPG getting a remake: Secret of Mana. Additionally, you'd get a bunch of numbers, profit and question marks. But honestly, I'd rather not see that, because there's the possibility of the game resulting in nothing but suck, Flammie rescuing you or you standing in front of the Mana tree realizing it's identity could likely be ruined after a graphical trying-too-hard makeover including sucky dubs. Then again, it's Square, and from what I know they'd actually be able to pull this off correctly.
