When did WoW get fun for you?

But seriously people should stop playing WoW altogether IMO. Because as long as Blizzard gets money from it, i don't think this world will ever see Starcraft 2/Diablo 3/Warcraft 4.
And i personally prefer to play a new Diablo rather than Warcraft series*which i never liked that much*

Depends on how vicious you want your gameplay to be. If you want to hit max level as fast as possible choose a PvE server, if you want to beat the stuffing out of other players(and get camped/ganked)while leveling choose a PvP. If you want to RP choose an RP server.
Now, in regards to server population. Recommended servers have extremely low amounts of people, but that allows for more people doing the same thing and allows one to craft the market via the Auction House but chances are there won't be that many raiding guilds available. Also, you will pretty much always enter when you log in which is something you can't always do in higher population servers. TBH, just try to find a server that is PvE and in your timezone.

hard at work on both SC2 and D3 i don't think WoW is an issue in that regard.

I know for a fact the section that made Warcraft (RTS) didn't make/aren't working on Warcraft (MMO)
