What response time should I be looking for? And what about the refresh rate do I want 60Hz or 120 Hz?

I'd also go with LCD, even though I'd say that screen burning isn't as common on now days plasma TV's. Also, screensavers exist for a reason, not only to look pretty.

There are many funny stories about screen burning and most of them involve the person having a picture of either a nude person accidentally burned in and panicking at forums on how to make it go away lol

It depends, if you use your TV as a computer screen =D Maybe consoles can use screensavers when you pause for a long time, iono.
Anyway, screen burning only occur if the same screen is on for a long period of time, so as long as you do not leave it on when you pause the game for a very long time, it won't happen. As long as the screen is changing from time to time, it's cool.

Keep in mind that you'll still want to keep an old CRT around for old consoles. HDTV delay isn't fun.

no, having an HDTV for PS3/360/wii/whatever is new is ok.
But older consoles have lag when hooked up to an HDTV. Sure it's no problem if you're playing an RPG or something, but if you're playing something with a lot of action, it can be unbearable.

I think you need to re-read what I said. I'm talking about keeping a CRT around for when you want to play older consoles so you don't have to deal with the delay.

Also what is a good target response time I should look for. I'm seeing alot of 6ms (milisecond) response times down to 2ms response. What is the smallest minimum I should get?
