Why does Valve hate the Number 3?

Next thing you know instead of Half Life 3 you will see Half Life 2: Episode Two: Part Two

Examples:

Portal 2
Team Fortress 2
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 2

Let's just say you aren't the first one to coin the term "Valve can't count to 3", and constantly hearing it gets a bit boring. Be more original.

Because the number 3 usually sucks. Just look at Mass Effect 3 and Modern Warfare 3.

So, does that mean Battlefield 3 sucks?

If you played Battlefield 2 religiously, and play #3 on pc (crashes like every 1.5 matches for some people including me, or other buggy shit) then it's gets pretty disappointing when you notice the really nice features they dropped that you really want back.

alot of game companies fall back when it comes to the 3rd game in series capcoms Street fighter series comes to mind, i think gamers are psychologically taken aback by the 3rd title in a series its almost like in the back of your mind your thinking "this again" it might be a marketing reason why so many developers will either not release a 3rd game or change the title like Bioshock infinant or Resident evil Nemisis instead of saying Bioshock 3 or Resident evil 3.

sides me3 is pretty awesome from the demo I played.

Perhaps they think it would be overkill if a series goes to a third installment? It could be a coincidence for all we know.

what these people just posted. Don't want to destroy the series like how halo and CoD did. Only exception was the GTA series, because its a sandbox game.
