Worst Controller on a console for a Fighting game.

What's the worst controller on a console for a fighting game.
Mine is definitely, The X-box's D-pad. It's not comfortable, you can't execute fast moves and combos. It's just.. Terrible.

Yeah definitely the Xbox controller, the buttons are shaped and placed more for the less-button-mashy games. Not to mention the d-pad, you cant use that thing AT ALL.

That Damn N64 controller.

Give me a PS2/PS3 controller any day.

Also, I love the 360 controller, it's easy to use for me.. I mean, fair enough the d pad is horrible for these types of games, but I don't play any of them without mashing like a mad cunt (lolme), so it's all good.
Also a fan of the ps2 controller.. not so much the ps3...

On topic though, the N64 was by far the worst controller to play fighting games on, right next to the Duke Xbox controller.

The N64 controller was only bad when my hands were too small to reach the joystick in the middle. The one time I used an xbox controller it didn't feel much different from the PS controller, I never used the D-pad though.

The Gamecube controller was completely terrible for 2D fighters (or any 2D game for that matter).

I hated playing the old Street Fighter games that were for the original Game Boy. Not a lot of options with just a D-pad and 2 buttons.

OT, I enjoy both the N64 controller and xbox 360 one for what they are. I dislike the original xbox controller and the dreamcast one, but mainly because I never owned those systems so I never got accustomed to them.

Yep. All 3 of them, plus a SFIV Standard Edition Arcade Stick, and a HRAP3 that I don't have on me right now.

I only have an SFIV SE right now, planning on picking up an eightarc dual mod at some point soon and possibly mad catz TE. Nice collection that you got.

I totally forgot that I had my Tupperware B*RS stick! :D

I'm also ordering a stick from B15SDM, and modding the HRAP1 (Pictured in above pic). Got myself some work to get done!

While I do love the overall design of the 360 controller, I do have to admit, the d-pad is absolute shit. Only reason I don't often complain about it is usually because I rarely use it in most of the games that I play. Besides, if I'm going to be playing a fighting game, I'd prefer using an arcade stick, if one's available.

I always have problems with my PS3 controller, then again I don't play fighting games too much...

Just remember to not turn this into an "arcade stick" discussion.

Yeah, I gotta agree, the Xbox controllers are pretty terribad for fighters... Must be those damn oversized arrows. Button placement, I can deal with. Limiting movement, not so much.
