Worst Final Fantasy series

In my opinion, It's gotta be FF8 cause that is when Square started focusing on the unisex male characters and love instead of good gameplay. They tried to redeem themselves with FF9, but afterwards followed their hearts (pun), and started giving us the techno future love stories that we see today. [puke]
Not to mention it is hard enough to follow-up on a revolutionary game (FF7), but to go from greatness to WTF is sad. You know how many people bought FF8 cause of FF7 - thinking it was going to be another revolutionary game?
Now that I think about it - FF8 was a revolutionary game... a revolutionary disappointment.

Spoiler:
Stop using that big-ass font size, goddamn. And what's the "revolutionary " part of FF7 again?

[size=10]Also can I haz reputation =3 [/h]No. Why?
OT: of the ones i've played, probably X-2.
That said, unlike many i actually found that game somewhat entertaining, it's not like it's the worst game out there by any means.

i didnt like X-2. more for the mission based style gameplay, kind of took away from the adventure they had in X .
but over all the story it was there, it held my attention. i loved the battle system they used. they should bring it back in the next rpg they make

13, even thought the heroins are hot their is much to do in the game the story is linear no side quests and no social gameplay like talking to people for quest or buying at the store.

FF14
im thinking everybody is gonna agree. Wether its because of the value as a FF in general or the fact that as an MMO its really bad, its worth nothing to me. No wonder SquareEnix stock price dropped like a bomb in the last few weeks...
What is Square doing seriously? FF13 was super linear, FF14 is crap, Nomura saying that all KH until the third one is online fillers for hardcore fans, the last remnant was far the triple A brand they usually go for... And whats up with all those Multiplayer modes? Its fine on its own, but they always ruin the single player when they do it.
They need to put their ass into gear pronto IMO

I haven't played 'em yet, but going by what everyone says about 'em i'd say 12 and 13 would probably top the list.
Im not counting the online games, cuz that just ain't Final Fantasy, it doesn't matter if they threw a Chocobo in there.

If only they had the decency to call it a chocobo, and not a chocopot, or horsebird.... lol
but ok, if we remove 11 and 14, id have to go with 13. Early FF introduced awesome gimmicks like the job system, the deep storyline, the character creation... 7 was a great game, 8 had a good fanbase but was dissed because it wasnt 7 (IMO), 9 was just plain awesome, 10 was very deep and emotional, 12 was a solid experience.
that leaves 13 and X-2. I think both arent that good, but X2 wasnt a big budget game to begin with, it was an 'on the side' kind of game. So thats why 13 takes the cake, for me...

you know what final fantasy needs
a whole new team to bring something fresh into the final fantasy series
new story, well every game has a new story
new setting, im more talking about bring the setting back to the past. cuz the way the series is headed it should be under the banneer of 'Star Ocean' rather than 'Final Fantasy'
new art, im tired of seeing whats his name art in every not just final fantasy square games to come out. but in final fantasy i expected a new lead artist for each chapter installment. its just the fact his art is everywhere in square, that im just tried of it. also is he a fan of tron? cuz when you see his generic soldier they remind me of tron.

Troll thread.
Final Fantasy 7, in my opinion, was not that great. There wasn't anything revolutionary about it. Cloud was probably the single most annoying video game protagonist to play as in all of gaming history, aside from possibly the Kid from I Wanna Be The Guy. Meanwhile, as a villain, Sephiroth was corny and, despite being incredibly stylish, all too generic of a character archetype. ("I don't fit in, I'm not one of you. I'm better. I should be a god! Time to die now. Etc, etc." I liked Kuja better anyway.)
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 8 was incredibly fun for me. Between the card system, the story, the characters (Irvine was Bro Tier), the music, and the battle flow, it was an overall improvement. Final Fantasy 9, however, is still my favorite out of all the FF games I've played. I didn't enjoy 10 at all, I turned off the PS2 and walked away within 5 minutes of starting up 10-2, and 11 was utter crap.
But, just in case this WAS a troll thread, disregard everything else I said and focus entirely on what I'll say next.
The graphics in Final Fantasy 7 sucked.

Ah yes FFVIII I just remember the first time I ever play it many years ago. I got it for my birthday and I just finish FF VII so I was excited to play this game. I pop FF VIII in my Playstation watch the kick ass intro movie, then I saw another movie where this hot chick walks in and later I found out that she was my teacher(BONUS).
So then I was SUPEREXCITED to keep playing
...then all I did for the next hour was draw magic because I needed magic. It is the only game so far to excite me more to play and then bore the shit out of me within one hour of gameplay....good times for my childhood.

well my friend ,you have to understand it was different times back then -1997. there was no blu-ray or hdvd like today. you say the graphic suck, well compared to today yyes they do but back then it was not also square-enix is one of the few video games companies to push systems to their limit.look at crisis core for example who would ever think that some of the cutscence look like they are coming from a ps3 but infact from a psp.and yes the game was revolutionary.who cares about the characters because the game offered such a very strong and emotional story

I find that FF XIII is the most subtle bad game of the series, even more so then X-2. How does that work?
