Worst weapons in video game history from any genre

Flamethrower in the Timesplitters games. Anyone who's ever played multiplayer in it knows that everyone plays a robot (if character stats don't matter), so it's completely useless in that sense.
Now, in single player or against non-robotic enemies, pretty much one of the best weapons there is.

That is true. But still how many times are you going to fight monsters with the stick? I never use it on the account that it weak...
So, what weapon did you use until you find steel pipe ?
I use Wooden Stick until James's first encounter with Mandarin ... because Bubblehead Nurses attack with group and have swift movement.
And as far as i know, we can use hit + run with wooden stick (you cannot when you use steel pipe because James need to prepare fighting stance which mean "stand your ground") .. that's sure help a lot considering Hospital's environment.
As for efficiency,
Wooden Stick > Steel Pipe

The Silverware weapons in Tales of the Abyss. Even though they sold for a shitload, they cost a shitload, and they hada whole attack power of 50. Worse than the Catalyst Weapons even before they got powered up. ;_;

Silent Hunter 5: Electric torpedoes (early war) @ 90% realism. Unreliable, short range and very slow speed along with small detonation warhead. I don't know anyone that used this torpedoes in their submarine.
Short ranged, unreliable butit was cheaper than the G7a and produced no wake which would allow a uboat to attack and slip away unnoticed and reduce the chances the target ship would take evasive manoeuvres.
The ones that superseded the G7e/T2s the T3s where much much better.

For me it was GES Bio-Rifle (BR)
From Unreal Championship.
Really? There was like no real use for it.
You must be doing something wrong... The biorifle in UT has the nasty habit of insta-killing people with a fully charged shot.

Woah woah woah. An SMG and a plasma pistol (charge + spray) was a beastly combination on Halo 2 multi, and dual SMGs were more than effective on Halo 3. Plasma Rifles were pretty bad in both, seeing as you needed to empty two guns worth into someone to kill them, and both pistols were almost useless on their own, but the SMG is reasonable. Now the Carbine vs the Battle Rifle...
It was usually the plasma pistol and pistol combo or dualies with the plasma rifle. I never went for the SMG unless it was the default weapon. The thing about the plasma rifles is that they seriously deplete your shields fast and do more damage to the body than plasma pistol shots. The only caveat was that plasma rifles easily overheated if you held the trigger for too long. I just felt that the SMG never did enough damage at midrange, and at shortrange, you were better off with the shotgun or dual maulers. Hell, I'd rather go at you with a gravity hammer than SMGs.

Worst video game weapon... Well the knife really did suck in silent hill 3... But I mean it's supposed too. The point of weak and clumsy weaponry is to make approaching monsters more of a hassle than an easy action game confrontation so I don't realy have a vendetta against any silent hill weapons.
A weapon I thought was gonna be badass was tiras blade hoop in soul calibur 3. It looked cool and moved fluidly but was actually really weak and everytime I or a friend played her they always lost. I guess it wa more flashy than hard hitting which was upsetting.

Basically, the equivalent of the Bamboo stick in all the Dragon Quest games. Does that even give you more attack than just your bare fists?

Ya'know, the reason why Plasma pistol + SMG combo is so effective is that they combine the specials of the 2 weapons. Plasma drains shields but little dmg when shieldless, vice-versa for the SMG.
If you're dual-wielding SMG's, it's best to continuously push downwards on the aiming stick so that when the gun moves up, you can force it down. It's been quite effective for me.
Maulers vs Swords?

Well that thing was so shitty I didn't even consider it a weapon lol

Penetrating Sword from Demon's Souls.
Not only is it not particularly good, but you're using a weapon called the "Penetrating Sword." Also says in the description it was used by the hero "The Penetrator" and has especially powerful thrusts. Getting the picture here?

I suppose if you couldn't find a pistol somewhere, an SMG would do if you had a plasma pistol. It's just that I never see people with SMGs unless they were playing Halo 2.
I love maulers, but their range is really short and slow fire/reload rate. Kinda like a nerfed shotgun, but with two of them in close quarters? Kick ass. Then again, I think the energy sword would win simply due to the lunge speed.

Although I liked the concept. Akujiki from Shinobi [PS2], this weapon is forged from suck. In a game in which there is always an end mission boss the developers saw fit for your one and only weapon to be one that kills you if you do not constantly kill things with it. Throw this into the combination with boss battles that towards the end drag on and on and you have a recipe for lots of cussing at the tv.
On a more of a dissapointing note, the whistling arrow [Shadow of the Colossus] Would you like an arrow upgrade? Would you like an arrow upgrade that makes it completely useless?

If we can consider Ppokemon as weapon, Magikarp was the most useless piece of shit with its zero damage "Splash" attack. If it weren't for the fact that it evolved into Gyarados, I'd never have bothered with Magikarp.

Just saying The pistol you get at the start of RE5 Sucks balls in proffesional
I henceforth regretted choosing not to use any of the weapons i already had

The RCL in Ace Combat 4. You couldn't hit ground targets with it since the shots were so spread. You couldn't hit air targets with it since the shots moved too slowly. It did the least damage of any weapon in the game. Ammo was limited.
