Would you want "consequences" in your Eroge?

So you're playing an ero game and you're sleeping with every male/female in it. Supposed the game made it so you had a chance of getting them pregnant, at which point the female character who is pregnant (or the male character who got your character pregnant) meets you at the school gates to give you the "joyous" news. Then you discover the consquences of being too ero. Anything from losing money in the game to support that new life that was concieved from your excess to taking both you and the partner who did it out of the game. Would you want this kind of thing to happen?

This post is inspired by a post I made in an Artificial Academy forum where I suggested this very idea... or rather one of the comments. Something about how "taking responsibility is for little boys", how "the woman should go and raise that child while the male stays in school and not pay for his actions" because that's what being a "playah" is all about...

Yeah... I know games and real life aren't the same, but maybe it could add some challenge?

The only eroge that comes into mind is Rapelay. lol

WEll, adding a bit of reality to a game is also fun in a way.

A game where you raise a family? Err, I have the sims for that.

Though it would be good for an eroge to have like an option to head back home where you promised to have sex or go to the store beforehand. Players who pick the store can buy a condom there and then you'd get a different route than the first, where you'd have the teen parent ending. (or an abortion)

I guess that's better than a random chance it happens. Eroge players like the fact that they are guaranteed of a certain ending through making the right choices, not through random chance.

There are games like this, that first you need to buy condoms to even have sex, but after a while the usual "we don't need it", it affects the ending too. (Alicesoft's Tsumamigui series, and mostly Alicesoft's simulation games)

but currently there are no "non-linier" eroges that have consequences.

No.children and consequences destroy my harem and through which I lose gratification and immersion. So if I had to pick between using a condom and ending up with cgs with the protagonist not going bareback or the consequences of having a child and the emotional distress caused by guilt for going with a harem instead of that child's mother I'll rather choose the coat hanger if you know what I'm saying.(also children in any VN or eroge is taboo I mean look at school days...)

There's a game besides Rapelay that touches on this.


I don't mind. Anything that works well within the narrative is a welcome addition.

What about games where you MUST befriend a girl first. You can probably sleep with her beforehand, but if you befriend her first you can find out what her "safe days" are. Then you can be intimate on those days and concentrate on the dating side of the relationship on those days when she's not safe.

Lol, this is pretty much like Artificial Girl 3.

Honestly, it's hard to implement the element of freedom in "linier" eroge, but something non linier like most Illusion games is possible "if they were feeling motivated and creative enough" To actually combine "Rapelay + Artifical Girl" into one game.

I haven't found any "linier" eroge that has a high level of freedom.

There is plenty of consequences in Alicesoft's Daibanchou and Daiteikoku. Well, Daibanchou more so than Daiteikoku.
