Check the model. Mine does, but it is one of the older models that is no longer produced I think. Some do, some don't.

All PS3 play PS1 games. That's how they can sell them on the PSN. It's the PS2 compatibility that's hit or miss.

Cool. I'm asking mostly because I just picked up a freaking gem- an unopened now opened copy of Resident Evil 2.

If you have the PS3 with the memory stick slots, it plays everything. As far as I konw from what games I've played on it.

As far as I know, My 80gb fat ps3 and my 120 gb slim both played ps1 games perfectly. I have also heard from my friends that their ps3's plays ps1's. And from what ive been told all of them play ps1 games and only the original ps3 that first came out played ps2 games.
