Ys: The Oath in Felghana help

Ok, so I'm at the Elderm mountains and I can't find the miniboss after the second save point. Can't activate the event with Dogi giving me the earth ring. I went to it right after I got double jump to level a bit before I finished Abandoned mines. Anyone know what I should do? It's not really that I can't find it, I just can't seem to activate its event at the boss stage.

Is it possible that I glitched the game by going there early?

While I'd venture to say that that may indeed be the case, a friend of mine complained about the same problem, and we couldn't figure it out before giving up, so good luck ^_^

So I should probably give up and start a new game?

Yea, figure that doing that will take more time, but less headache for that particular problem, ya know?

Did you make sure to finish up all things story-related? I seem to remember one Ys game, either this one or Ark, where people missed a story event. This caused the game to stop showing new events until the story scene was visited. Or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.

Ah, problem solved, I forgot to visit the mayor. Valestein castle is awesome.
