If everyone who's participating is patient enough to guide me through any duel, (explaining "new" cards effects, explain what I have to do, and don't rage quit) I'm considering to join.

I'm pretty good with rulings as well.

I'm pretty good with rulings as well.Nah, I don't have any problems with rulings, I've been playing yugioh since junior high, it's the new cards effect is the problem. My mind is basically stuck at the first generation cards, and can't remember many new cards, since I stop noticing new cards ever since I graduated high school
If you duel me, you'll see me asking frequently, or even doesn't realize the effect of your monsters/magics/traps, and I can easily forget any continuous effect. That's why I call myself the "old grandpa" in here.
I'm just asking if the other competitors will accept me, rather than just annoying them later.

I had this problem after coming back after four years as well.
At first I didn't know about synchros and how they worked.
Well we could duel now, I can help you put together a deck with new cards(Probably the best way to memorize them).
Edit~ Although since it is a tournament, tolerance should be one of the things included. So no ragers please.

I'd be willing to assist too, as a watcher or opponent.

And dont worry about about anyone rage quitting on you since were all from the same forum. Everyone here knows each other (I think?), pretty sure the tolerance level is there. Plus, I know there are others who are still abit unfamiliar with the new card effects as well, so you're not the only one who feels this way.
If you have time to play later today, we can do that if you want. If you have questions about anything, feel free to ask during the duel. Also you can discuss the cards in my other thread as well (that's pretty much what it's used for now).
Besides, rage quitting gets you D.Q'd anyway, that's self-explanatory.
To the Participants: Please PM me the name of the deck you'll being using in the tournament by July 7th so I can update the Roster in the OP. Everyone has plenty of time to decide on the deck they wish to use before then.
EDIT: Update on the rulings, please read.
2nd EDIT: Update on the rulings again.

I'm not really sure what deck to use. Guess I'll make a new one and test it out first.

Well, then its decided that Hajo and me are organizing this.
Having two people working on stuff makes random pairings much easier to put up.
Also, i would also accept the PM´s regarding the results of the games that the contestants fought, so that there is the EU and the US timezone covered up for information, match results, etc.
Write me back when youre available Hajo, im in msn from now on and still online for two hours :)
Btw, I am also gonna make a list of who won against who and will put it up in here as soon the tournament started and im online. Hajo can quote it to add changes so i can take the new scores over to the next chart update.
Think i said enough for now :p

I think this also needs to be cleared up: Will it be alright to spectate other tournament participants during their matches or will all matches block watchers?

Important Update
Update on the rulings, please read what's in bold
After someone (Onime) pitched me an idea of how to make the side decks work, I have thought of something a little more simple to allow side decks for the tournament. Players who want to use a side deck for their deck(s) will PM me their side deck. I will then add your side deck to the OP under your name in a spoiler.
Why do this? Well, this is one sure fine way to ensure EVERYONE will play honest when switching cards from the side deck to the main deck for matchup purposes. The side decks of each contestant will be visible for ALL players to see. So during a match, if a player wishes to use their side deck, you may do so. HOWEVER, other players should be aware to keep tabs on their opponent's side decks. So if the opponent is using card(s) against you that were not listed within that side deck after switching cards, PLEASE REPORT THAT PLAYER HERE OR PM ASAFOREVER OR MYSELF AND WE WILL HANDLE IT.
And the whole reason behind allowing two decks for play in the first place was because of the side deck matter. But that is now resolved. I am also still allowing players to run two decks in this tournament though. Because this will honestly keep things very interesting throughout the event. Although, you are still NOT allowed to switch decks mid-match. This is why a side deck is crucial.

Allowing one deck with 15CD sideboard would be sure a better idea, since you can adapt too well if you know wich deck is better against that opponent >.<
But well, that call is not on me :3

A sidedeck already allows a player to make changes so they can adapt to their opponent's deck. In this one particular tournament, using two decks, before the match starts. Players will have NO CLUE which of the two decks their opponent will use against them. And thats the interesting part. It can be a good matchup, a bad matchup, or it'll be neutral. Either way, the side deck is still there to make things different, for good or for worse.
