Any update on book upgrades? I purchased a few digital books due to the promise of this integration, and now my choices are to not buy the book or pay an extra $10 because I chose to support you instead of wait? Would hope those that bought under the old rules and promises would have got refunds. As it stands, guess I'm not getting the physical books. :(

Sadly I think it's because it wasn't as successful as Toshio and/or Fakku hoped it would be. They likely took it as the interest isn't really there and doing more isn't worth the effort. Disappointing as I think La Blue Girl would have done quite well. Publishing through Kickstarter has also gained a lot of momentum these last few years. However as years have passed without a peep, I'm not holding my breath amymore.

Either the platform they were using for the store, or the host, axed them. While corporate censorship doesn't anger me as much as government, it is still utter BS. A few people indoctrinated by whatever book either use their money or moan enough to force their beliefs on others. People should just pull their heads out of their asses and let others live their lives. If you don't like something, then don't watch/touch/use it.

Is there only 1 Yama book left that Fakku doesnt have?

Yes. Taihen Yokudekimashita? Is the last tankobon but there 2 one shots which we have the last one but not canvas i think.

Yep, also known as "How Good Was I?" in the English adaptations, is the missing book. Dont think either one-shot ("Canvas" or "Should We Study?") is here. Though the true gem would be if Fakku could get their hands on the uncensored versions of the Tayu Tayu OVAs. There is still Yamatogawa material for Fakku to publish. Sad thing is the lack of new content as Yamatogawa has vanished as far as I can tell for the last few years.

This is now my 4th time purchasing Aqua Bless (Icarus Publishing, Project-H, Project-H reprint from kickstarter, and now this).

One of these days it will work - Yamatogawa will see the demand and finally get back into his art... maybe even do the alien story he mentioned. Maybe if Jacob offered to do his laundry for a year?

You will get an email when it ships. I also get an email when it is out for delivery (meaning it is arriving that day), though that may be limited to the US.

Also worth noting, if you ordered multiple books, it won't ship until the last book in the order is ready. So grouping books saves on shipping, splitting your pre-orders up means you get them faster.

I would like to have the ability to filter already purchased items in the store. With hundreds of doujinshi and books, it can be easy to forget exactly what is in your library or not. This makes browsing the store and filling your cart tedious and has stopped me from making purchases on multiple occasions.

Almost all of the figures sold. Sadly they didn't sell for very much and eBay vastly underestimated shipping costs, so I lost money on some. Luckily I made money overall, but kinda sucks giving up my collection for pennies on the dollar. Those that did follow through, thanks.

Thanks! Been thinking about giving some of these games a try, and this will let me experience what one is like and know if I should get any more of them!

I will, of course, be getting this as well. For those that have previous copies, I actually took the time to compare Witchcraft versions, and I expect this to be the same vein of differences/improvements. You can read more details there, but the short of my conclusions from that thread:

TL;DR --
- If you have the 1st Edition of Project-H: Unquestionably worth the upgrade
- If you have the digital edition of Project-H: Unquestionably worth the upgrade
- If you have the 2nd Edition of Project-H: If you are looking for a better translation, better artwork lettering, and sound effects in English rather than both, upgrade. Or if you want to support Yamatogawa and hopefully encourage him to produce new works, upgrade.

Spoiler:
Actually there's 4 editions for this in english.

Icarus which was like the Project- H 2nd edition but a non book cover variant. Different translation but better paper then project- h 1st edition.

Anyways mine is on the truck for delivery. Pics later.

That actually surprises me. I don't own the Icarus publishing of Witchcraft, but I do own a copy of Aquabless from Icarus. The paper quality might be slightly better than 1st Edition Project-H, but still the terrible newspaper quality gray paper that you can see the printing of the other side of the page through the one you are reading. It also contains zero color pages, the cuts are even more inconsistent, and sound effects have no translation (which some may consider to be a good or bad thing). I didn't rank the Icarus edition of Witchcraft as I didn't own it, but if it is anything like the Aquabless printing, it is also one that you should replace. Though seems you already have. :)

So I just received my third copy of Witchcraft. I figured I'd make a quick comparison in case anyone has a copy and is on the fence of buying the Fakku Version:

Project-H First Edition: This edition is the worst printing. Poor quality paper, inconsistent cuts, missing color pages and panels... if you have this edition, you SHOULD upgrade to the Fakku version. It is superior in every possible way to the first printing from Project-H, so not bothering with any direct comparisons.

Project-H Second Edition vs Fakku's Edition: This is where there is an actual comparison. Project-H really stepped up their game and included all of the panels and proper pages in color along with much better quality.

- Print Edition Quality comparison: They are actually quite close. Fakku's has a smoother paper stock, but both are of similar paper weight. Neither edition has any real alignment issues that I can see, and the printing is solid. So while I would rate Fakku slightly higher, the difference is small enough I wouldn't rank it as a reason to upgrade to Fakku's version.

- Digital Edition Quality comparison: Here it is a different story. Fakku's editions are lossless high quality PNGs while Project H's are PDF copies filled with artifacts. If you care about the digital edition, the quality difference alone is vast enough to be worth the upgrade.

- Translation comparison: So this ended up being far more different than I expected. Not knowing Japanese nor having a Japanese edition, I can't technically compare, but I can give my opinion of how the translation feels/reads to me. And honestly, it is a bit of a mixed bag. Some translations I like better in the Fakku edition, and some I like more in the Project-H edition. However I trust Fakku's translators more, and considering just how different the translations are, if accuracy is your concern, this can be a major reason to upgrade.

- Lettering: When it comes to fitting the lettering to the text bubbles, I actually prefer Project-H's efforts as they fill them better, making the bubbles more often feel like they were meant for the text. I also slightly prefer the font Project-H uses, but they are so close that it doesn't really matter. This is the one and only area where I'd give the "win" to Project-H, but again they are still so close as to not really be a deciding factor.

- Sound Effects: Sound Effects in Project-H's edition has the original Japanese characters with translations just plopped in. Fakku actually redraws all the sound effects into English. This would be more opinionated on what you prefer, and unfortunately Fakku doesn't always do it perfectly with some letters having their centers incorrectly filled in rather showing the artwork behind, or sometimes being more obtrusive than the original effects. These issues are not pervasive enough to really bother me, and I prefer direct translations rather than the doubled up of having BOTH the Japanese and the translation blocking things up.

- Artwork Lettering: Now when it comes to Artwork lettering Fakku is miles ahead. Project-H just has poorly fitted typed words over any Japanese characters, and while it gets the translation across, looks ugly. Fakku took the effort to have any writings worked into the art so they look much more natural.

TL;DR --
- If you have the 1st Edition of Project-H: Unquestionably worth the upgrade
- If you have the digital edition of Project-H: Unquestionably worth the upgrade
- If you have the 2nd Edition of Project-H: If you are looking for a better translation, better artwork lettering, and sound effects in English rather than both, upgrade. Or if you want to support Yamatogawa and hopefully encourage him to produce new works, upgrade.

Most "free" sites steal the artworks that they host on their sites, and while stealing a candy bar is cheaper than paying for it, it is still a bad thing to do. Supporting artists is a GOOD thing - it is how they are able to create their works rather than having to go work in some office. As Saito has pointed out, this piracy is so prevalent, many Japanese artists see the West as a thieving black hole that there is no reason to cater too. If you pay for their work, then that will change. This means uncensored works (something that may never be released without sites like Fakku!), translated art (where art has Japanese text would be drawn in English or possibly other languages), and even more art as more income for them means they can devote more time to their craft.

Supporting the artists should be reason enough. Like you deserve to be paid for working, they do too. You can look carefully for sites that are honest and are using their ad revenue to pay the artists, but outside of artist's individually hosted sites, I know of none. Hentai in the West is still a niche of a niche, so ad revenue is unlikely to be sufficient. Even sites like PornHub is filled with stolen works. It has the same structure as YouTube, so anyone can post anything relying on a reporting system to take stuff down. Though they have a vast ad revenue network and STILL have a pay wall for better video quality or to access videos that actually support artists (or for live videos). In short, nothing is really for free, nor should it be.

Beyond being legal and actually supporting the ability to get the content you enjoy, you personally benefit from high quality hosted works, paying for professional translations, paying for any additional work for the artist to provide uncensored and/or adjusted works for Western audiences, and for physical copies of works if you so desire.

My favorite tag would be "hairless" as I do not like pubic hair, but as that does not exist, have to go with "pettanko". I like breasts no matter their size, but often manga/anime has only women with jugs larger than their head. Pettanko usually has a lot more variety, so is more fun and feels more natural to me.

Thank you for the response. Good to hear that it is a store front limitation that you plan on eventually fixing rather than a policy. And it’s true you can’t hold a card on the pre-order. Beyond a $0 pre-auth to make sure the payment option is valid, the card simply would not be charged until it is ready. This does present the risk of the payment method becoming invalid in that time (unavailable funds, canceled card, etc), but then you simply don’t ship to them until payment is made. You could add a waitlist for closed preorders so that you even have a line of people to sell failed orders and extras to. I don’t know the failure rates, but it doesn’t exceed the increased sales from pre-orders vs pre-purchase or the ability to clear that stock, or most sites wouldn’t do it. I look forward to when you can.

@Dashiell - This would not preclude the ability to pre-purchase. Some people prefer it due to payment limitations, budgeting, not risking exchange rates, etc. They’d be silly not too. Fakku! (as do must sellers) prefer pre-purchase as it is zero risk and the con against it for consumers is a pro for them: money is worth more today than it will be tomorrow. Your preference is safe.

Agreed. But The Sweet Vanilla and Chocola Figures .-. Do you know of a site that has them and you dont pay upfront?

This post might get deleted due to mentioning other sites, but a few suggestions:

Play-Asia is my favorite. They have competitive pricing and I've never had to pay a deposit for pre-orders. Often they've been lower than Fakku! (one figure I got was $50 less than F!), but in the case of the two figures you're looking at, the Vanilla is sold out and Chocola is $5 more ($25 if you have a F! sub) before considering shipping cost differences, so there is that to consider.

Other sites I've gotten figures from are ranging from $220 to $250 on the figures. Hobbyfan is another solid choice, with the advantage of them being US based like Fakku! (if you are as well) helping on shipping times and costs, but they sometimes have a deposit fee. In the case of these figures, they're $225 and require a 15% deposit.

Other sites I've used either don't have them or are even more expensive. There are a hundred other sites I haven't tried, and there's always eBay. Though based on a cursory glance it looks like Fakku! has the best deal -- especially if you have the sub discount. It's a matter of if the savings is worth the up front cost to you. Here I would say yes (as was the case in the single figure I've gotten from F!), but if one doesn't have the funds now, that means it is not even an option.

I really do hope Fakku! will change their policy. As long as the price is competitive, I'd much rather support this site as I see them as an extremely important player in bringing this side of Japan to the West. Unfortunately these figures are another example. I like them and am extremely tempted to get them, but I don't have the money right now. I'm also not a fan of the concept of dropping $400 and getting nothing over a year.

Yamatogawa is my favorite Hentai artist. Own his editions from Icarus Publishing (which were low quality), the low quality and high(er) quality printings from Project-H... do I get 3rd/4th copies? Of course. :p

I heard he had a space/alien project in the works, but it has been years and haven't heard anything. Anyone have better sources?

Personal ramblings aside:

Of all his works, Power Play is my favorite, and has my vote for the next release.

Could you please pursue shirts and posters? :D

Hopefully the stronger success of Fakku can encourage Yamatogawa to release new works!

It's charged when the order is placed.

I’m a pretty big figure collector, but this is the reason I don’t order figures from here. I can let the cost of a book sit as it’s only ~$24 and I get a digital copy to hold me over, but when you’re talking easily $200+ for nothing for months is a tough chew... especially when most other sites don’t charge until the order comes in (though prepay discounts are common).

When you start talking about having more time to save so you can get your preorder in time but can still afford it, interest accruements, and frustrations of any delays when you’re out the full amount... it matters. At this point there is already at least 6 figures that I went to other sites for because of this policy.

Why am I only allowed to like Jacob's post once?

Seriously, I find this to be good news. Hentai US releases have always been horribly overpriced and came with bad subs or even worse dubs. Really difficult to try and support the small companies as they come and go when they want $50+ for 3 episodes of inferior products.

As I doubt you have the investment funds and talent pool of Disney (as I do like their Miyazaki dubs despite the liberal translation take they have to help match mouth movements), I'd say concentrate on proper subs and obtaining uncensored material. I too grew with Kitty Media releases, but admittedly I gave up on anything of quality being released at reasonable prices, and just went for the occasional clip on PH when the mood struck. I trust Fakku to do right by us as well as by the creators. Great news! :D

First and last three days being heavy with everything in-between being slow is the standard path. It takes an event of some sort to break that pattern. A media push, a new tier or bonus that causes many to upgrade or people that were holding back to join, being "Loved" and front paged by Kickstarter (sadly something that will never happen for a campaign like this)... I expect them to push this at AX, which should bring in a surge. Getting this campaign posted on a place like ANN would also help - they've interviewed him and have posted him on their feeds in the past, so see no reason why they wouldn't be willing to post about his KS.
