Animefreak_USA won May's contest, and here is what he has to say:
Summer.. DEAR GOD IT's HOT... i live in hell aka central cali, but it's the time of bbq's and garden parties..(i'm from the south.. weird people man). Summer stuff like fourth of July..my b-day too. July is a bounty of goodness like Tri-tips grilling on a grill, pasta salad and beer.. lots of lots of beer. Then it hit me, while looking at my mom's house seeing all the vegs and fruits of my home place... this months theme is...

Summer Produce!!!
Here a quick list of some summer produce:
Since this is a global society.. if you have something else that harvests in the summer of your region.. feel free to do it.. and if you buy your stuff from the fruit stands.. extra bonus...
And so sayeth Freaky! Here's a quick recap of the rules:
Contest officially starts now, July 1, 2011 and ends 00:00 PST (GMT-8) August 1, 2011. No entries will be accepted after that time. Voting starts whenever I wake up on that day and will last for five days, after which we will announce the winner. Winner gets mad props, rep from me (and from others?) and the chance to choose the month after next's theme (July winner chooses for September).
Contest is over for July, so please vote for the best summer dish HERE.

I will try to make this blurb less eggs-cruciating for everyone...
Hello everyone! Last month's theme was "eggs," and although I eggs-pected more people to join, we still had just a poultry turnout. Omelette it slide this month, but people, we need more contestants! We can't all put our eggs in one basket! We will be rel-egg-ated to choose from the same set of people all the time if that happens.
But look at the sunny side--we still have a bunch of egg-cellent dishes this month:
Animefreak made Bread Pudding
Mantisprime1250 made Bacon and mushroom omelette
Melfice_1 made Ramenlette
Nekohime made Tamagoyaki
Somesome made Eggs Benedict
Remember folks, we are judging on how well the recipe fits the theme for this month--or you can say, how eggs-actly the dish fit the theme--and how delicious the food looks in the photos! Good luck to everyone, and I'm egg-cited to see who wins. Ok. Enough with the egg puns. The poll will be open for 5 days starting now.
That's all yolks!

Alright people, it's officially the 1st here where I am, so this contest is closed. Thanks for joining!
I saw someone with a hentie shirt carrying a Kyuubey cardboard thingy. Who was that? Fess up!
Edit: also, when I'm not at various events, I'll be hanging around the JS Anime booth 426, waving signs for delicious hentai and yaoi. So come on over and say hi, and get some of that delicious pr0nz as well!

I'd hate to go home without buying anything. You read my mind. >_<
Ditto. I don't know what to buy though...I guess I'll see what catches my eye when I get there.
I'll probably be in the area around 7-8ish to pick up my pass, so if you see me, say hi!

Just arrived in Los Angeles and we have our hotel... a 5 1/2 hour drive...hell fest trying to get here...stop and go traffic all the way in, annoyed the fuck out of me. then I saw a car covered in anime stickers, that made it better. the historic mayflower hotel is where we are at, pretty nice place too. top floor room also!
Sweet! The Mayflower is pretty nice. Teh bf and I will just be driving in though.

edit:I really wish I could go but the fakku danny choo panel is at the same time :(
Yeah, I know! I was a bit disappointed at the schedule, but if I don't make it to the finals I'll most probably be at the meetup.
Just one song for both the auditions and finals. I do love Scissorhands so much (and so does teh bf), but Koi wa Sensou is the more popular Miku song, and it's way easier for me to sing.

Always stick with the one that's the most in your range; you get more points for being in key and on pitch than for base difficulty of the tune, I'd hope.A well sung, if simple, song is better in my book than a slightly botched but complex song.
All of them are within my range--HOTD is the one most out of my range coz it's so high most of the time, but I can do it if I use my head voice. Broken Wings is probably the easiest one for me to sing and perfect, but I don't think it has enough...ooomph. I think the crowd will be bored to tears if I sing that.
But in any case, I think I'll stick with Koi wa Sensou...wish me luck, people.
edit: I figured out that it was the mp3 conversion process that messes with the static so much. So here's a better version of Koi wa Sensou, but it's a .wav so the file is bigger.

Any suggestions on how I can improve would be very welcome! I know it's still not 100% and I tend to trail off the note at the end of some phrases, so that's definitely something I have to fix.

Really didn't see this coming with Prinny and Haburi, and honestly it really breaks my heart to see this happen =(I just want to wish you both the best of luck, and that you both can recover from this quickly and with minimal heartache but that's probably to much to ask for. I hope you two can remain good friends and support one another despite your time together ending this way.
Good luck to both of you, and I hope you two can find happiness sooner than later.
Wait what? O_o
I am so late to the news, lol. I suck. =_=
