Yeah I think it would make a good topic for the gaming board as well. You're right, Tegumi. Also, there is a nodame game? I wanna play! =P
Yep! It's a music/rhythm game, a bit similar to Elite Beat Agents with some Taiko no Tatsujin thrown in. It's not translated, afaik, but it's simple enough that you don't really need to be able to read Japanese to play.
I've lived a short drive from beaches all my life. I try to go at least once a season--more during summer. Biking along the beach path is incredible fun! Plus during some seasons in SoCal you can see dolphins swimming super close to the coast, and you can swim with them if they let you get close enough. The only thing I don't like is excessive sun, but that's the price you pay for being outdoors.
Oh and @mousey: I hate camping because I've been incredibly unfortunate with it. One time, I got bitten by a poisonous centipede on the ass. I could NOT sit down properly for at least two days. Another time, I got bitten by a mosquito, and ended up in the hospital with dengue fever. Yet another time, a huge caterpillar managed to crawl on my face, and I ended up in the hospital once again, being pumped with antihistamines because I had a severe allergic reaction.
I'm...I'm gonna stay in the nice city, thanks. At least I know my pet spiders aren't trying to kill me.
*coughs* Anyway...
I've never tried baking apple pie.

Well, the dangers of going through pregnancy and labour far outweigh the dangers of having an abortion, so there's also that to think about...
Oh yeah, Tegs, I totally forgot about Witch's Tale. That was a girly game if there ever was one. The sweets world made me so hungry...
Aside from what Tegs and I mentioned (my whole 3rd paragraph was DS games), there's the Nodame Cantabile game, Maestro! Jump in Music, and that one Stitch rhythm game. The Chi's Sweet Home game wasn't bad, IMO, but I probably think that because I am a huge fan of Chi. There are actually a bunch of good girly games for the DS, probably because it's seen as the more gender-neutral or girly handheld console.

I have, but I don't necessarily like it. I've given up on most fast food chains lately.

If you mean SDCC, I haven't been either, but I've been to LA Comic Con.

Some country music is actually good. But it does tend to get super repetitive--I mean, yeah yeah, your woman/man left you and now you're drowning your sorrows in beer while driving on the deserted country highways. I GET IT, NOW SHUSH.
I've never lived a day of my life as a man.

You should BOTH talk it over, like Gizgal says. It shouldn't be just your decision, as your gf will have the short end of the stick during the pregnancy and the first few years of the kid's life. Think of your financial situation, your maturity levels, and your morals. Do you have it in you to be a parent right now? Will you have family and friends to help with childcare? If you plan on going to college, does the college have free or low cost daycare for young families? Can one of you get a stable job to support yourselves? Will you regret having an abortion more than having to raise a child at your young age? That is the main question I would ask myself. I personally would abort, and I'm 23 with a college degree and a stable-ish job, but this is YOUR life, and only YOU and your gf should be able to have the final say.
I would not recommend adoption, because I had a cousin that gave her baby away and she is still very depressed about it 4yrs from now, even with an open adoption. Like Girlfountain says, it's a lot worse psychologically. Plus there are tons of unadopted children out there. But if you guys think that it may be an option for you, don't hesitate to decide as such. Research *reputable* adoption agencies--who won't coerce you into putting the kid up for adoption.
If you do plan on keeping it and raising it yourself, know that there are resources out there to help you. Having a child that young doesn't HAVE to automatically mean that your life is ruined--it just means that times will be tough for a while. You can get help from WIC, Medicare, and welfare, and I tell you this--there is absolutely NO shame in doing that, as long as you use those resources toward a better future for your family.

and now on the abortion topic that evolved...but let me ask a question first, when is a person considered dead?Legally, it is defined as the "irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain."
Roadside stands are awesome, but you have to have a strong stomach, especially if you eat it in a foreign country that has questionable sanitary practices. But I've eaten street food in 6 different places--China, Taiwan, HK, Japan, Philippines, and US--and I'm (mostly) fine.

One of the Elders pointed me in this direction, since I'm a girl. I'd love to join up! With a name like miss-esquire I don't see why you're not. I'll put you on the list.
New topic then:
What kind of games are pretty girly? I've been playing Persona 3 portable and if you pick the girl for the main character all the menus are in pink. The music is better too and the social links deal with typical girl problems. I like it. =P
And now I'm replaying it on male and everything is plain boring. XD
I'd love to know this too--are there any GOOD games that are targeted primarily toward girls? Many of the games that are geared toward girls just plain suck. It's like the game companies just decide to slap pink menus and rainbows and sparkly shit on crappy games and expect girls to buy them just because...PINK!
Excuse me while I barf.
The Cooking Mama series was pretty amusing. The Atelier Series, though not precisely my cup of tea, are good games as well. Coropata is an amaaaaazing puzzle game that is geared towards girls, but unfortunately is not translated yet (I can read just enough Japanese to play it though). Then of course, you have your endless sims and virtual life games--some of which are good, like (e.g. Harvest Moon, The Sims series, Nintendogs) but most of which suck horribly (i.e. most everything else--I'm looking at you, Imagine series).
Some games that aren't particularly girly, but which I think really capture what women want in games are the Mass Effect Series (playing as Fem!Shep, of course) and Dragon Age series. Both have a great storyline with strong female characters and great gameplay. Bioware knows their shit. As a female gamer, I love well-thought out story lines and great customisability in those two games, and the romance subplots are pretty cool too. *cough*Garrus-Shep*cough*
But enough of me being a Bioware whore...does anyone know any other good female-targeted games?
Yeah...composing work, va work, and tutoring work--but at least the first two are fun, even if it's mostly unpaid. T^T

You're aware the anti glomp thing is only my defense mechanism right? XD You could have glomped people without me doing anything lolNope no real plans for going anywhere, just looking for a job for the last bit of summer and hopefully something I can keep to work around my schedule next semester. What about you?
Aside from AX, nah, nothing too interesting is happening. Just the usual work, work, and more work. We may go up to SF later in the summer, when LA gets too unbearable, but that is to be decided later.

A new study actually found that shows like 16 and Pregnant actually increase support for abortion. (Source.)Abortion is murder,Unless you're a victim of rape.
I've never understood the logic behind the "abortion is murder unless X" statement. It either is, or isn't murder in ALL cases.
The definition of murder is this: the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought. Let's set aside the legality of abortion for now--it IS definitely legal in the US.
Killing of a human being: we can argue about this until the cows come home, but foetuses are not considered human beings under law. You personally may believe that they are human beings, but the law is what we should be referring to.
Malice aforethought: you could argue that abortion does have malice aforethought, because you are knowingly going in for a medical procedure that will kill the foetus. But anyway, 2 out of 3 of the definitions of murder are not satisfied by abortion, so legally, it is not murder.
Let's just say though, as a thought experiment, that abortion is considered murder. Killing a foetus even if it was a result of rape? That would be murder. Women are charged with murder, after all, if they go out and kill their rapist after the fact, and not in self-defence during the act. The only legal reason to commit abortion would be for self-defence--that is, if the woman's had valid reasons to believe that the pregnancy was going to kill or harm her. In that case, it would be a justifiable homicide rather than murder, and would be the only legally accepted reason for abortion.
In any case, I'm glad that the US does not consider abortion as murder. Forcing a woman to carry a child to term is unconscionable.
