Any update on what date the physical copies are expected to start shipping?

Guessing it got stuck in Customs for some reason. That or it's some kind of COVID-related delay.

Asamine Tel's K'ijoui Ecchi'. All the stories in it are already on here, so there's that.

Dunno if they count because they're doujinshi, but would it be possible for the original works by Saemon to be published (I call them his 'older woman' series)?

Any of Mikuni Mizuki's previous works.

And Hiyoshi Hana's as well.

I noticed that the print versions of Half-Ripe Cherry and Tits! Tits! Tits! seem to be printed on a slightly different stock compared to earlier releases (compared to my copies of Renai Sample and Bashful Break, for example, the stock seems to be slightly thinner than before). Is this just because of the reality of trying to get things printed in the age of Coronavirus or will this be the new normal going forward?

This has been something that's been going on for quite a while now (about 2 years) However if your previous experiences have been from older titles like Renai Sample I can see why it might be surprising.

I've stated in other threads discussing this, but worth mentioning again is the reason we've changed paper stock is purely to keep it closer to the original Japanese edition. The materials are exactly the same, just a slight difference in paper weight. If you look at some of our older titles compared to the original Japanese you'd actually see that ours were thicker than the original titles. This especially got noticeable in how it could be impractical when we started doing larger titles like the Urotsukidoji omnibuses where it was more cumbersome to hold. The change was purely a quality of life improvement to make it easier to hold/open without breaking a spine and to be more identical to the original titles.

With that in mind, regarding COVID-19, there hasn't and there won't be any impact in quality of releases. What impacts there have been have simply been delays. We have a COVID-19 thread where you can read here if you're interested in reading a bit more about it: Book Releases and COVID-19

Ah, okay. I had been wondering. And no I had not seen that post; I will confess I don't check the forums much.

I like this idea! The only issue is we don't really have the staff resources to dedicate someone to this

Understandable. Just thought I'd throw it out there, since it seems like some artists shift from one magazine to another at random.

As for MGMEE, I looked online and I saw that her last few magazine works are with another publishing company. So I'm guessing that she's moved on from Wani. Sorry man.

That's kinda what I figured ;_; I had been hoping her tank would be translated.

It might be nice to have a thing on each artists page that says whether or not they're active an/d/or whether or not they're doing content for Wani magazines at the moment. Part of the reason I suggest this is I realized some of the artists I follow (like MGMEE) haven't done anything in a while, plus it can be difficult to know who is doing content for which magazine.

Oh fuck yes!

Artists often jump from one magazine/publisher to another. Once they do, they typically stay with them until they have enough content to publish a book, and then reevaluate their situation. We've had artist move to another magazine, and then come back to one of ours after a book release in the past, but the decision is entirely up to the artist, so I can't comment on anything beyond that.

Okay. I really like their stuff, so I was wondering what was up.

Sorry for necrobumping, but does Hiyoshi Hana not draw for Wani anymore? I ask because, well, I haven't seen anything from him posted in a while, as well as the fact that I saw some stuff of his on another site that was listed as being from Comic ExE.

Man those twitter comments make me sad... Rather than actually supporting artists/studios they want everything for FREE.

I have a theory. The new generation don't have a recollection about the bad times of anime and manga. They grew up in the high DSL to broadband age. They don't remember the pirate age of trading VHS and vcds on bbs or the shit rez avi 240p or worse 56k dl or when anime was scarce and costly. They never had to kick in on a donation pool for getting the media and transition. None had to finance their comiket trip with a massive gathering of raw DVDs and tankobons or find people in Japan to get the media.

All they see is 'my free shit isn't easily found I'm gonna cry and rant'.

That's my guess. I don't have a problem paying for shit if I can get it from a legitimate source.

This is out of left field, for sure.

Nice. I'll have to pre-order this.

That just happens sometimes. if the artist hasn't said anything on social media then we can only do is wait.

One artist I though was "dead" for so long (stopped making anything new) was Lunch, but their twitter just released new art.

Fair point.

Not sure if this belongs here, but I couldn't help but notice that Saemon hasn't had anything uploaded in a while. His/her Twitter is still active, though, which is why I'm wondering if they're just on hiatus, or if something else is going on.

Wasn't Kitty Media owned by Media Blasters?

Ain't seen the name Toroshio since before the DMCA takedown. Looks good.

As someone who has been striking out on OKCupid, POF, and Tinder, I almost want this to be real.
