I found out about this only recently, and I could not help but chuckle a bit to myself. If this had occurred several years back, I would have supported it, but having read the entire entire story I cannot. I just can't find enough worth in the story.
I'm alive. I don't have much of anything to say really. If I did, I would be more active on here.
It's so good seeing these characters back in action... and so weird that it actually has an animation budget now. The first season must of been a pretty big "success" for it to get this much of an upgrade.
There is quite a bit I want to say, but Aldnoah Zero is not worth the effort. Apparently, the director and writer(s) felt so, too. To summarize, this anime is basically the new Fractale.
I'm mildly hopeful for this game. I wound up enjoying DD:DA way more than I thought I would when I originally played it even if it did get easy towards the end of the main story.
I really, really wish I had the time to help test out this beta patch. I would've liked to help those guys out who put in so much work already into this game since I do have a modded PS2.
So far, it just seems to be a racier version of Str.A.In. which actually wasn't that bad.
Judging from the content of the OP, it seems like this will be paced as well as the Maoyuu Maou Yuusha anime... by which I mean terribly. The pacing of the first episode was fine however, so there is some hope. Some bits of chapter 1 were cut out, but in the grand scheme of things it probably doesn't matter much.

Inaho's rifle was already pointing at the Sky Carrier's wing during the conversation. I don't see what is wrong with Slaine intentionally missing his shot, as supporting evidence if he fired with the intention to hit Inaho the explosions could send his Sky Carrier into a perilous spiral from the impact. There's also the Deucalion which would probably squash him like a bug after killing Inaho to deter him. Perhaps you should dismiss the assumption that they fired simultaneously.

Spoiler:
Again, it's the awful directing that's causing confusion where there shouldn't be. We do not see Slaine's shots hitting anything. We also don't see Slaine shots missing anything. The bullets just disappear. If this actually is a "Slaine fires first, Inaho responds" situation, then we are clearly missing a frame where we see Inaho actually reacting to Slaine's shot.

It could've been framed as:
(Slaine fires)
(shots miss or damage an unimportant area)
(close up of Inaho's face)
"Wrong answer." "Bad choice." etc., etc.
(Inaho fires)

But what we got was:
*Bang, bang*
*Bang*

I'm watching the scene again. And Inaho's rifle is in the mech's right hand. The bat's right wing is what was shot. However, we never see Inaho actually aim for the right wing. If it was the left wing that was damaged, you'd have a case. Inaho's mech is seen holding the gun close to its chest right up to the point where we see Slaine's shots being fired.

So actually, neither explanation makes any sense (insert laughter here). It can't be simultaneous since Inaho wasn't already aiming, and it can't be Inaho firing second since we don't see any actual reaction from Inaho.

provoking Slaine and shooting him down despite helping Inaho.

Can't blame him though, Slaine shot first, when it was obvious that Inaho was just testing him.

Spoiler:
I can't blame him because the writing is in the gutter, along with the directing. If the directing was better, no one would be saying Slaine fired first, because they fired at the same time and it was just framed terribly unless we assume that Inaho has instant reflexes and his mech can respond to his commands so quickly that Inaho is capable of responding within a split second. Nevermind Slaine somehow missing his shot. See also in episode 12 where Slaine teleports from the top of the Castle to just outside Tharsis' cockpit.

It also taught Slaine to never show mercy to his enemies which lead to the death of Inaho.

Spoiler:
Except you are forgetting that Slaine was quite willing to shoot Trillram multiple times when Slaine first heard what Trillram's intents were.

And that's the thing. I find it hard to blame any of the characters for their actions when they have been written so inconsistently. See also:
Spoiler:
Inaho forgiving Rayet for being a Martian and choking the princess while provoking Slaine and shooting him down despite helping Inaho.
Episode 12:
Spoiler:
Well, that was unexpected. Although the writing still isn't good (Slaine saving the Count? The hell?), so if the characters miraculously survive I won't be surprised.

Why did Slaine kill Inaho?

Spoiler:
Assuming Inaho is actually dead, it's because Inaho drew a gun on him. Which is funny for some reasons:
1. It is the opposite of what happened earlier between the two
2. Inaho has been relatively unharmed throughout the series while Slaine gets tortured for an episode on top of his regular abuses
2. Slaine shooting Inaho here makes more sense than Inaho shooting down Slain earlier after provoking him and leaving him to drown
3. Inaho was completely unharmed from their earlier encounter despite them firing simultaneously (though some people like to believe Slaine fired first).
The trailer looked good, but it's hard to get excited for it when Xenoblade and Xenoblade X were developed while FF15 has been in development hell. There's also something to be said for the unintentional hilarity of having a bunch of dudes, some of whom wield short-range weaponry, driving a convertible where giant turtles can show up nearby and also fight knights with automatic weapons in an open field.
Spoiler:
My feeling is that Rayet being able to strangle the princess wasn't so much of a surprise but the princess did not even try to slam Rayet against the wall or anything to actually dislodge her grip.

Episode 10:
Spoiler:
Cruhteo is 100% dead. I was pretty certain before, but this episodes seals it. Aldnoah doesn't turn off for no reason. At least it looks like we will still be able to see the Tharsis in action anyway.

I like how Inaho's explanation for "trusting" Rayet afterwards is the same reason he shot Slaine down. Good job, writers.
Episode 9:
Spoiler:
I still have no idea why Saazbaum would reveal that he was among those who desired the death of the princess. Wouldn't it have been better for him to state his backstory first so that Slaine and he would have common ground in "do not trust Martians" at least?

Additionally, I find it funny that the princess is totally willing to arm-throw a harmless member of the bridge crew, but can't do anything while being strangled. I thought the previous episode was setting an example to show how if she got into a physical confrontation with someone we'd know she was capable of defending herself without it looking like an asspull or something. But that doesn't seem to have the intent considering the whole strangulation scene.
The MK8 DLC is looking very good and it's at a nice price, too. The original SNES Blue Falcon has never looked so good.

Is it really possible to rule out Slaine can't use Aldnoah, he was able to use the teleportation/projection device, which I would assume, before anything else, would need it (faster than light transmissions... possible space folding?).

Spoiler:
He might be able to considering he is the son of the lead researcher of Aldnoah apparently. There's also the matter of Slaine "wanting to fight" which wouldn't make much sense for him to ask if he couldn't use Aldnoah.

Spoiler:
I guess I'm wondering, have they clearly indicated what does and doesn't use Aldnoah, besides the mechs and castles, as of yet, and have I missed it?

Spoiler:
The castles might not actually use Aldnoah tech. The "sparks" or whatever emitted from the martian Kats have been the only thing referred to as "the light of Aldnoah". Nothing else has been explicitly shown to use Aldnoah, so it could be that a lot of the advanced tech shown is conventional technology developed from what could be understood from Aldnoah tech (thanks to Dr. Troyard possibly).
Meteos, Panel de Pon series, and the Bust-A-Move series are my long-time favorites. I do feel like Columns is under-appreciated though.
Well if the US doesn't get a physical release, then I can at least import a physical copy from the EU. Don't know how to feel about the absence of Ciel nosurge though.

I'd hope that 13 more characters, a far superior controller and graphics, and the addition of side+B moves would outweigh some extra heavy gravity.

Well pretty much everyone got used to it, but it did feel very weird back in the day. No one who started with 64 really needed to get used to Brawl gravity since it was more or less 64 gravity again.
