I put this in the "Visual Novels, Doujin Soft, and Eroge" Section by mistake a few months back and not wanting people to miss this great doujin game, I thought it be better to post it here.
Its pretty cool and the animations are great. Its like playing Super robot Wars but using Type-Moon Cast. NOT a H-Doujin Game but still great.
The game uses the crossover of Type-Moon's visual novel and anime series, including Tsukihime and Fate/stay night with several original characters made exclusive by Werk.

i'm also getting this problem, it crashed even before i applied the english patch so there might be a problem with the installer itself.
after some testing it seems that a problem lies with the second game as i was unable to start the battle after instaling it but nothing noticeable with the first and the crashing problem happens after installing the 3rd game, they might be linked to eachother.

unicode? you mean applocale? or something else?

well by that he means "Windows Language Pack for East-Asian Languages" which can be installed from the Regional and language settings in My control panel. You'll need a Windows disc tho.
I installed that and set my local language to Japanese (thus making it a Windows Japanese) and the game works. I'm not using applocale tho.

I have a little problem, i installed BMW 4 but had to delete the whole game bcause of an error while patching (The game crashes everytime takumi does his skill "Futsuno - Strike")
now i wnated to reinstall all parts, but the 4th part installer only shows an error message of weird scribbles
i redownloaded the files and tried it this way, but this hasn't worked either

unzip the packages then install parts 1 to 4 in the same folder
to patch, simply put the files from the bmw_english4V_90 folder into the place, where you installed Battle moon wars
run the graphics patch
