So I was talking with a friend and we got into a debate about great leaders in history and it some how broke down into a qoute battle. I was thinking that quotes have an incredible impact on people and sometimes are what rally people together.
So I was wondering if people have quotes that stay with them and why they do?
Mine is "One deaths a tradgey, a millions just a statistic"

This quote has always stayed with me ever since I heard it. It's so shocking because its so true. When someone dies in a family or close town.... that deaths focaused on and is gathered together around with broken hearts and crying people. But when you talk about the holocaust or the Rwandan Genocide it's all numbers and satistics not individual tragedies.

wow. that's an interesting concept/quote. i never really looked at it that way. now that i think about it, it's true. imma gonna bring this quote to mai former National Issues teacher. he's the most knowledgeable person i know. i'd like to hear his thoughts about this :?

I loved this quote. In this age where people expect ridiculous levels of compensation to perform even the most menial of tasks, this quote reminds me of the right reasons that people help each other.
I might have taken it out of context, (I don't remember where it came from, but odds are it's a reply to suck up to someone they love) but I don't care. I like my interpretation of it >.<

Regardless, this quote always sends chills down my spine when I hear it. Its such a amazing thing to say, let alone live by. So many people die and fight over differences in opinion, so many people persicute over separate idea's, but to live by this principle, to say "I dont agree with you, but you deserve to say it", its amazing. Your showing open minded-ness AND supporting human rights, your ability to say what you want without repercussion...
