For many years, ive had a slightly differnt view of the world but before you jump on me for my veiw I want it known that I am not a believe that we should wipe every person that doesn't have blound hair and blue eye off the planet and kill all the jews. I'm asking in other peoples view pn how they see Hitler, in the new movie Valkyrie staring Brad Pitt, A Nazi working for Hitler sets out to kill the once mighty Hitler. I read many things and seen work of Hitler and see him as a very smart, honnorable man for what he did. here was a man, one man who re-sparked the flame of Gemany, the people who called to surrender, the people who faught and die in their country, for their country. brace men marching of land, manning the first credtable under watervechile of warfare, taking one by one of the Allies while the Central Powers became more powerful was all brought tp an end by us. The United State Of America brought order and ended the war and the Allies with a strong sense of power dforbid Gemery to use thier armys and ordered them to pay and crazy amout of money, but years after one man, well spoken spoke up, one man encourgeed Germany to see the light and that same man started one of the most known war in history World War 2. yes he killed jews, yes he raged a war aganist the free world but he, the head of the Nazi party, was he a bad person?
In in leading a war based on personal view wroung, if you say yes then i want you to think about this, if some country destoryed America and left with only ashes and was forced to drain all of our money to pay our greedy victors and some one came along said at the root "let's fight for our country, let take back what's our and get more" how would it be differnt? is the back bone of the Revolutionary war goal to be a free people be any differnt? Is nationalism an dubble standerd or am i just bending view in my favor becuase of what i believe, but with all that said i ask again, Was Hitler a evil person?

Hitler may have done a lot for his country, but he sent millions of Jews to their deaths. He knew what he was doing. He doesn't deserve forgiveness or mercy.
Now, if I was a good person my entire life, and on one occasion, I smacked a woman upside the head, do I deserve forgiveness? Probably. But if I smack millions of women upside the head? What if I don't just smack them but beat the shit out of them? What if I kill them? Does it really matter that I also did good things, if I do something so horrible?
Martin Luther King, Jr. cheated on his wife, but he did a lot for the civil rights movement. In his case, his sins can be overlooked because of the good he did. (Maybe not "overlooked," but we don't have to call him an asshole.) But with Hitler, all the good he did was far overshadowed by the evil he did.
He didn't even kill Jews for any good fucking reason. He just didn't like them. If he (seriously) thought that Jews carried a dangerous virus that could destroy mankind, his killing the Jews might be understand, though if that were the case, we could easily label Hitler as a lunatic and end the discussion there. Hitler killed Jews because he was racist. End of story.
Now, I don't think any person is completely "good" or completely "evil." It's stupid to think that. I do, however, think that Hitler was far more "evil" than he was "good," just like Gandhi was a lot more "good" than "evil."
Any person who kills others simply because of their race, including women and children, is a bad person. Hell, any person who kills other people, including women and children, is a bad person. No matter how much good they've done. Taking a person's like isn't like spilling milk on the floor; you can't just mop it up and make everything cool.

Hitler was a greedy bastard who wanted more jewgolds. But evil? No. The winners write the history books and I refuse to judge someone for something I did not see.
Jokes about/with Hitler are fair game though.

ok you have a very strong ponit fallowed with very very good example and even a slince of food for thought and i respect all of it, really well played. thought i i know i can't fallow with such a good resonds as your but i'll try:
no one person thhoughout history has cutted down so many ppl of the same faith and on those grounds he is truely hated for his doing unless you continue to partice his views. Yes he did horrible things to the jews an don the surfacethat is what he is known for. everyone person has demons but those that unless them are cased as crazy, evil or are taken out for thier views, Hitler was one of such who lead his country to a misguided sense of glory and from his leadership germany fallowed his orders becase of thir belief aand let's face it fear of Hitler and cut jewss. but beyond that wahat can he be chard of but murder. stepinhg a few steps back in history Persia cut down countlrss men and raped thier women in the path to become the greatest country on earthlike most back then, they paryed on the weak and thought nothing of it. The Roman empire, the place that gave so much back to the world was a country to bend or war, with some of the great war lord to live for the ruthless and great power, but these are all fact that you can read in a book if you look up death of the world ypu'll find Hitler there no doupt bu8t he as an indvual atanding alone with out his recond has the same chance of befing a queit plotter much like myself and countless other across the world but let's think how he got to power. he had to speack and perswade german to lead them, like a person speaks up and become President aanist odds, spweaking on what we want to hear while doing what they feel on their to power, other country don't have choice of a clean back ground check before they come into power in those days but i will say this he might have tryed to wipe off a race of earth, but if you have to plesure of coming across one of his speches traslated into english you'll see why draw my view but like i stated i have a diffenrt view of theworld and that's all i got

I have four words that undermine your argument:
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Also, Hitler didn't want to kill all of the non-Aryan people in the world. Just the ones in Europe. The other ones would be for slave labor.

Well Jack after reading your posts, im asking myself, what do you want to achieve ? Are you trying to justify Hitlers acts of massmurder, oppression, dictatorship... or to state it simple, his ignorance of what we consider as basic human rights?
"Hitler may have done a lot for his country.."
Excuse me he did what ?
Let`s see under the Nazi regime:
Germany achieved great advancements on the medical field.
(By using Jews, Prisoners of War, Political Prisoners as Test Subjects)
The unemployment rate was decreased
(By leting people work in factorys to produce Tanks, Weapons, everything you need for a little war)
The Transportation System was improved, so to speak new Highways was build.
(So War Supplys could be transported a lot faster)
The "Hitlerjugend" was introduced as an program for the education and entertainment of young people.
(Oh did I forget to mention that Germanys young generation was brainwashed and raised as soldiers?)
Germanys federal territory was increased
(By attacking and overtaking neighbour countrys.
Oh yeah indeed Germany achieved so much under the Nazi Regime.
@Jack Owl Of The Night some little advice for you. Read some History books before you talk about things you don`t have the slightest clue of.
Oh Last but not least:
Valkyrie
Hollywood Production.....nothing more to say
Graf von Staufenbergs attempt to kill Hitler was the right thing to do, but it was too late for it already.
Edit:
For the Question: Was Hitler an Evil Person?
Well i don`t think evil can fully describe his Personality.

Even if a person speaks well, and has a good plan for the world, it does not mean that the person can order millions dead and get off the hook.
People call Charles Manson evil, and all he did was brainwash a few people and had them kill a few people. Hitler brainwashed a whole country and had the equivalent of a whole country killed.
As I have already said, my outlook on life is that no one is truly "evil." Good and evil are human constructs and are typically universal. People are rarely universal. Even the most pious person does bad things, and even the worst person does good things, depending on who's looking at the situation. That said, if we are going to categorize people as either good or evil, then Hitler easily goes into the evil pile. There's not even any room for discussion. For every good deed he did, he did two bad things (more likely, three bad things, maybe more).
Does this mean we should never say anything nice about Hitler? No. We can still use him as a prime example of a great speaker. He may have had good strategies, and if so, we can praise him for that. (I'm not saying he did; military strategies aren't my bag, so I don't know if he had good ones or bad ones.) But we absolutely cannot talk about the good while ignoring the bad. Killing Jews wasn't a hobby of his. It wasn't something that he liked but only did on rare occasions. It was a major part of his plan.
In the first post on this thread, you call Hitler an "honorable man." To me, honor is something that a person earns, and it is also something that can be lost. Hitler forfeited all the honor he may have deserved by doing the things he did. By killing people for no reason, by creating a war that wasn't needed, Hitler said to the world, "I should not be honored." Because what is honorable about those things?

Just gonna throw out my opinion then leave, don't want to get involved in all this, lol
Personal I loved leaning about the events of WWII and background, cause and effect etc. Now for Hitler, I think of him as a man you accomplished a whole lot(again, good/bad/terrible things), he was one hell of a speaker, and he knew what had to be done to restore Germany(just not in what others may see as a good way to do it) So that's were I stand on this issue, if you ask me 'what kind of person was Hitler, my honest reply, would be, 'he was a unique man' (i do however, think he did more terrible things that good things) so I ultimately believe if there is a Hell, he is in it for the things he did.

He killed millions of Jews. I think that's all you need to know to make an answer. There's no justification for what he did.
Anyway, I second the "facepalm.jpg"[/h]

from what i've heard, he was one of the only leaders who try to keep their word, he promised that he would eliminate all with non-Aryan traits and he did just that by killing off almost 7million Jews in total. He didn't get a chance to finish since he was going to be arrested. [/h]
Though what he did was wrong and unjustified. He tried to keep his word. but yeah, he tried to kill people, he is evil. xD [/h]

If you were someobody else (shaggy, Whitelion, etc) I would consider this an intellectuals attempt at sparking a "No such thing as good/evil" argument.
With that kind of argument you could say "Look at America in Iraq. Americans see themselves are taking down a dictator and bringing freedom and democracy to the middle east. While the Arabic people see us as invaders overthrowing their government to install puppets".
I won't exactly say Hitler was evil. He gave hope to a downtrodden people. Though his methods were wrong he wanted to restore Germany. Too bad he ended up sending millions to their deaths and destroyed Germany a second time. While we decry his actions now, he was a hero to his people. Humans have this mentality that good triumphs over evil. So those who win are the good and those who lose are evil.
From what I remember, Hitler used the Jews and Communists are a scapegoat to advance his political agenda. He blamed them for the ruin of their country. With people to hate it's easy to motivate.

While I'm not unsympathetic to the fate of Jews during WW2, I have a bunch of more personal reasons to hate the SOAB. My country was the first to be attacked during the war witch means it ravaged it for the longest part. After it finally ended, there was so much damage and internal chaos that it was literally taken over by another country practically striped of independence for many years.

Why does there even need to be a discussion about this shit? Do you believe that the jury is still out on this one? Shaggyjebus pretty much covered this one.
Here's how I see it. There's no such thing as evil. It's just an idea where people would view something negatively.(human invention) Hitler was just a prick who was racist and wanted to kill his fellow man in order to conquer shit. His intentions were evil and his actions were evil. As said previously, his evil deeds heavily outweighed his good deeds. Since there's no objectivity in evil, deciding whether he was evil or not is completely arbitrary. And although I think that popular opinion is usually bullshit, I agree with it on this issue.
