New IB Section...

..for games and chat threads.
Not only have i brought this situation up many times to Waar and others, but it has come apparent that it is an ever growing issue to some users on this forum.
I understand that IB is mean't for these pointless threads, but it just gets to a point where it becomes ridiculous, and quite frankly it has. These chat threads and game threads appeal to some, but for the people that find them menial, they just waste up space and make things cluttered. They keep re-appearing on the front page numerous amounts of time with no end. To the threads that don't involve a game or chat of some kind, i find they get pushed down to page 3 of IB in less than 2 hours. By this time no one will pay real attention or even know it existed at all. This is hardly fair at all.
Im not saying to get rid of these threads, but just move them into a sub section of IB. I know that some feel if this happens, that IB will lose most of it's appeal and die down in activity. It's reasonable logic, but IMO it will make IB even more appealing than it is now. There is no point in asking "what if's" but rather put this motion into action and see what comes forth. Take a risk, no reward comes from sitting back and doing nothing.
I know that others feel the same way as i do, so please take this suggestion into consideration.

Agreed. there's too much chat threads and ridiculous games. I used to come to IB just to read some of the lol stuff threads in there.

I participate at the chat threads as well so I didn't really know what's wrong with them but now that you mention it, you have a point.

That's what Incoherent Babbling is for. Not chat topics specifically, but users are free to make whatever topics they want.

The problem is that people are posting so much in chat threads they aren't bothering with anything else and as such no new threads are being made.
As hard as it may be to believe, Jacob is not an omnipotent being. He makes errors in judgment occasionally if at all.

Not to put any users up on the pole, but it seems that all hell has broken loose in IB since 2 certain users arrived...

Spoiler:
Why not place a limit of the number of chats and games? This way will still have our favorites along with other topics to share the first page.

It would only cause more problems than we have now. A subsection is a much better idea.

There was apparently a limit of one chat thread, according to waar.
That's why FCB was locked...

I think we could have a sankaku like system and split IB into a section for chat threads, normal threads, and the game threads

Your right, just like we have a nosebleed subsection, we should have a chat and game subsection. Things won't be cluttered and we'll still have them.

I like this idea. We'll still have the chat threads and hopefully, the complaints about the chat threads will be gone.

I like this idea as well!
I do enjoy the Chat threads and games(about three of them), but most of them are repetitive...
I love to come to IB to comment on the "lol" threads, but they have become hard to find do to the 39+(being dramatic)chat/game threads taking up the first two pages...
A sub area for Chat/game threads in IB would not hurt anyone or IB in any way.

I don't see a problem with this idea. It could be in a subsection just like Nosebleed is.
The only downside that I do see is, the only reason chat threads weren't removed was due to the fact it's IB, where pretty much anything goes in there. Fakku has it's IRC channel, and it's Chatroll and that's where a lot of users spend their time when they want to talk. If you have a subsection to 'chat' in, that may make the other preferable options less, well - preferable.
That's the only downside though. Me personally, I would take irc or skype over a chat thread any day, but a lot of people enjoy the chat threads, so I don't see any harm with it.
I also think if that happens no one can bitch and cry tears about the kind of chat threads there are. Unless they get to be racist or offensive.
Even though I wasn't a cheerleader for the 'girls club' chat thread, it really didn't bother me that it was there, and neither did the people who were arguing in it. They were arguing in it for shits and giggles, and just to argue for the sake of arguing until Jacob was forced to step in and close it.

I see this more on the lines of how lazy you are. You make a new thread. Let's say in an hour it gets pushed to the second page. All you have to do is click the second page link and you found your thread. The lazier we are, the more convenient it is to have our threads placed before our eyes with as few clicks of the mouse as possible.
Hmm.
Whether or not this idea gets implemented, I don't care. As I see it, this is a very trivial matter. In case Jacob wants to see how many people support this notion, put me down for "pro subsection."
