Forums in general are dying off as a method of online communication. The internet moves too quickly nowadays for forums to work outside of niche cases. People want fresh content shared quickly. Forums are more suited to discussing a particular thing over a longer period of time, such as a specific game or book. For most people, they'd rather have a feed that's constantly changing (Twitter, Reddit) or instant messaging (Discord).

Dead forums or not I ain’t letting that get in the way of me making my 15 posts lol. Yeah, forums certainly seem to be falling by the wayside with most of the internet either moving on to social media style posting or going back to old chat room style communicating with services like Discord

I personally prefer discord over forums so a lot of forums all over slowly started dying after discord came around.

From reading around I can see that they have to MANUALLY enable that option for each account, so it worked in the past, but now the surge of free users make it hard for them to keep up with.
