I guessed what the ending would be like but I hated it! I wish there'd be a sequel!

Kinda expected... I loved this anime because, in my opinion, there wasn't a real protagonist. You could side with L/M, or you could side with Kira, probably depending on your morals. I was with Kira all the way, and even though I was rooting for him the whole anime, I knew he wasn't gonna win :(

LOL I just remembered...I HATED HOW THEY ENDED IT. It was simply because some other retard screwed it up for Light. If Light lost fair and square to a battle of wits, that would've been alright for me....

Couldn't have ended sooner.

Humans are by nature good, even in our memories we're always the hero or the helpless victim.
We have innate desire to do the right thing, nobody wants to be a "bad" person.

However, morals are relative to the individual.

so is the perception of what a "bad" act is... some may believe what they do is right when others see it as wrong. Also you are right in saying that humans are by nature good but this doe not apply to all humans; there are a few that seek to cause pain in others, most of them would be considered mentally unstable but again that is a term which is solely defined by others opinions i.e society. Being a "good" or "bad" person is relative and I would say most people are more of a shade of gray; able to commit great acts of good but also able to perpetrate great evil as well.

I said morals are relative to the individual.

Some veiw doing what benefits themselves as good, if it feels good do it.

If you think that way and killing/raping/hurting people makes you feel good....

still i imagine there is a limit, people who kill or rape must know they are committing "bad" acts, no matter how they justify it.

I love it. I knew it was coming and all but seeing Light cry like a little girl was worth it.

Ryuk wins and that's all that matters to me.

Also, I really hate how the anime changes it a bit.

I saw it coming ever since Near came into the picture, even though I hate Near with an fury of a thousand suns I was hoping he would win, Light made so many mistakes it wasn't even funny, I read #13 and got filled in on alot of the little plot holes in the story so it made it even more obvious. Oh and a little fun fact, Mello's and Near's names were supposed to be switched with each other. This little Death Note fact brought to you by TheKiraOfHentai :D

I agree, even though I don't hate Near, he's just no L that's all. Oh is #13 "How to Read" (never read the manga, just the anime, but I know the differences in the endings :P), 'cause I was thinkin of picking that up. It seems kinda interesing.

It gives you so much more info to the series for your understanding. They even have random info in there as well...Oh, and they tell you L's real name (If you dont know as of yet).

I personally wish it ended with L's death. It just seemed so much more satisfying.

Besides, would it kill a mangaka to have the villain win completely in the end?

To quote Berserk Abridged:

hbi2k:But that ending is such a downer...
Zodd: Oh yeah, for you humans. But it's like the only time in the history of anime that the demons win! Every other story ends with the Ancient Hero of Bullshit showing up wielding the legendary Sword of Deus Ex Machina and slicing the hell out of us. Well not this time! This time, WE WIN! Griffith turns evil, everyone gets killed or raped or eaten, fuck you, THE END!
